Neglected and decaying, the space held an eerie charm that whispered of secret rebellions and hidden desires. The air was thick with the musty scent of old plaster, dampness, and a faint tang of urine.
Mandy let out a long breath, exhaling the weight of the world as she sat on the toilet lid. She took a deep breath, filling her lungs with the musty air before letting it out in a slow release.
The balloon, now big and full, pressed into her chest as she pulled at the buttons on her pinafore. Each pop of the material was like a small explosion, echoing through the neglected space.
