"I need to use the bathroom," I said to my best friend and roommate, Luke. He was sitting on the couch, watchingHe was sitting on the bed, the phone resting on his lap.
Luke had a thing for big guys. Not necessarily the guys who were big 'in stature, but the guys who acted big. He loved it when I threw on a jacket that made me look like I had a growth spurt, even though I hadn't actually grown any taller."It's right there," Luke said, gesturing towards the door. "Go ahead."
I walked to the door, opened it, cept I didn't need to go anywhere. The hallway was empty. I turned back to Luke, ready to tell him I was going to bed, when I caught sight of myself in the mirror."Oh, shit," I said, squinting at my reflection. "I think I broke my growth spurt."
My bestie face lit up like he always did when I said that. It made me feel good, even if I was lying. "What growth spurt? You look the same to me.
