I was sitting in the passenger seat of my car, my hands folded on my lap, staring blankly ahead as the rain pounded relentlessly "You know it's bad when they close the roads," my husband said, wiping the rain from his face with his sleeve. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked the time. "Shit, I gotta go.I'm late for a meeting."
I nodded, watching the droplets hit his face. "Meeting about what?" I asked.
" The new Math chip.' They need to update the code to make it compatible with the new AIs. It's complicated."
"And you know what that means?" I asked, turning to face him."It means they're going to need me. I'm their last hope. The last engineer."
"Don't be dramatic," he said, but I am being dramatic. I have been dramatic ever since I can remember. It is in my nature. Drama is my life and I love it. The more dramatic the better. My husband knows this and plays into it every chance he gets.
