Chapter 1: Chapter 1
I've always been a bit of a girly-girl. I love pink, purple, and blue. My voice is soft as I say this, but I don't sound like myself. Instead, I sound like one of those dainty, flutter-cheeked girls you see in romance novels. It's the perfect disguise, because nobody would ever guess that I'm a guy.
I'm sitting on the bed, looking at the neatly made woman's" clothes on the floor and wondering what it would be like to wear one of those dresses. They look so soft and romantic, I want to sink my teeth into them. But I can't.I'm a boy.
My girlfriend, Zahraa, is a beautiful, strong, and independent woman. She is the center of my world and I am the center of hers. We fit together like puzzle pieces. When I was little, I used to draw pictures of us together. In one, I was the knight in shining armor, protecting her from the dragon she rode.In another, we were the sun and the moon, shining bright together. I've kept those drawings close to me ever since. I wonder what happened to make her stop drawing us together. Maybe she ran out of ink, or time, or both. It doesn't matter. The point is, I miss her drawings and I miss her.I'm staring at her now, at the softness of her skin, the delicacy of her features, the way her eyes crinkle when she laughs at my jokes. Even her hair, which is long and brown, has a femininity to it that I find enchanting. Zahraa has been my girlfriend for two years.I've never felt so lucky. I've never felt so in love. I've never felt so fulfilled. "Do you need something from me, my love?" she asks in her soft voice, stroking my hair as she does so. I feel goosebumps all over my skin and I shiver despite the heat of the day.
