Chapter 1: Chapter 1
McKenna stood in the waiting room of her doctor's office, looking at the other patients. All of them were thin. All but one.
There was a group of four girls in their mid-twenties, all blondes, sitting in a corner booth. They were discussing their weight and how they were going to lose it.One of the girls was particularly large, and she was complaining about how hard it was to find clothes that fit her. The other three were all skinny bitches" as McKenna called them. She could see her reflection in the mirror above the sink and felt ashamed. It was true what they said about her in the waiting room. She was a sight. A monster.A super-fat girl.
Her thighs were so big, she could hardly walk. Her belly was so big, it made her look like she was pregnant. Even her face looked big, but she loved it. The rest of her body was covered in stretch marks, which she hated, but at the same time, she saw them as badges of courage. Her belly button was a crater, and her thighs were rubbery.
Her eyes landed on the last girl in the waiting room. She was wearing a pair of baggy shorts and a tank top that were two sizes too big. Her hair was a frizzy mess, and she had a splotch of what looked like red sauce on her shoulder. This girl needed help. Badly. When her name was called, she walked to the front desk, where a woman greeted her with a smile. "Hi there, I'm Dr Miner, how can I help you today?" she asked, her voice thick with southern accents due to her upbringing. It was one of the many things that made her attractive. She had a kind face, and her smile was contagious."Well, I'm here for my regular checkup, but I think I might have an issue with my weight. I'm up to 6 3", and I used to play basketball, so I know I should be heavy, but I just don't feel right. What do you think, Doctor?""Well, I think you should eat more, Missy. And exercise more. That way, you'll gain some weight, and then you won't look so... so..."
She stopped herself from saying ' monstrous'' by biting her lip. "So, uh, big. Got it. Thank you, Doctor." She handed her purse to the receptionist and took a seat in one of the beat up old chairs by the waiting room. She opened her purse and started digging through its contents, looking for something to eat. She found a half-eaten granola bar and some change enough for a soda at the vending machine. She popped the tab on the soda and drank it as fast as possible, hoping it would give her some energy. When she finished, she threw the can away and searched for more food. She found a bag of chips and a bottle of water in the back corner of the waiting room. She ate the chips and drank the water, hoping it would give her some energy to work off the rest of her meal before she headed back to the car she had parked outside the building. When she finished, she felt sick. Sudden dizziness, light-headedness.She was so hungry, yet she couldn't stop eating. She was so tired, yet she couldn't sleep.
As she sat there, staring at the wall, her mind wandered to other places. To men. To love. To lust. She thought about her father, who died two years ago. How he used to chase her around the house with a broom because she was so big.How he used to force her to eat her vegetables because she was so big. How he used to make her go out into the yard and play with the other kids because she was so big.How she used to wish she was small like them, so they would play with her instead of the other way around. How she envied their lives, their health, their figures. Then, she thought about her mother, who was also big. Bigger than her, actually. How she envied her mother's figure how she used to model for fashion magazines, how she was so beautiful that men stared at her wherever she went. How her mother never had to worry about her weight because she was so beautiful. She stopped herself from thinking about her mother. About what would happen if she lost the weight she had gained since her father died. About what would happen if her mother caught her using her weight as an excuse to get out of doing things she didn't want to do. She would be in big trouble. Bigger than she was already in.
