Chapter 1: Chapter 1
I was sitting in the waiting room of a Planned Parenthood clinic when a man walked in. He was well groomed, well dressed, and looked like he could be a model. I wondered if that was his intention. As soon as he saw me, he stopped and smiled. "Name's Reggie. What brings you out this way?"
"I need an abortion," I said."Can you help me?"
He looked at me with his dark eyes, his jaw flexing and his mouth opening and closing like he was trying to say something. Finally he said, "Well, I can refer you to someone who can help you, but I don't do the procedure myself. I'm a photographer, and I need the tissue for a project I'm working on.Can you please just give it to me? I'll pay you for it. "How much do you want for it?" I asked. I knew the answer before he said it, but I needed to hear him say it. It was a test of loyalty, and I failed. I gave him $100.
