Chapter 1: Chapter 1
You are witch who specialises in potions. When you inherit some gold from your great aunt, you decide to follow your dream and open a potion shop.
You choose the city of Hid as a location for your shop. Known as the "City of a Thousand Temples," Hid was once the capital of a long abandoned faith. Almost every building in Hid is converted from an old temple. The city stands at the edge of a desert that was created during a magical war. That war, part of a crusade of the old faith, left a legacy of monsters and treasure throughout the desert. Hid's location makes it a popular destination for adventurers. With so many explorers and mercenaries in town, Hid is an excellent place to sell your rare and powerful potions.
You set up shop in a small converted temple. The place is rundown, but it has potential. The main room of the lower floor will make an excellent storefront. You can convert the back room into a workshop in which you can brew potions. Upstairs is a small area that you hope to convert into your living quarters. The door to the cellar is sealed with old runes. Sometimes you hear strange noises down there. You can worry about that later. In the meantime, you have a business to run.
You set out your small supply of potions and you open the door, ready for your very first customer. A young man walks in and asks if he can buy a healing potion. Yes, of course,' you say. 'What can I get you today?'
The man looks around the small shop. 'I don't see any books. Are these all you sell?'
You smile. 'All I sell? How rude. Of course, I also sell spells and other items of interest to the wizarding community.'
He looks around again. 'But you l have to forgive me. I'm new to this town and I don't know what to expect. What kind of business is this? Magic? Necromancy? Herbology?Or just plain old alchemy?'
The man nods. 'I see. Well, I was hoping to find some books on the subject of nec romancer spells, but I suppose this will do. Thank you for your welcome, miss.' And with that, he leaves you alone in the small shop.
As soon as the door closes, you feel the power surge through you. It's an amazing feeling. You've always known that you have this power, but it's different when you actually use it. You're a witch and that means you have magic powers. Some of them are dangerous, but some are wonderful. Today, you use your power to open the door and let the man in.He buys the healing potion and leaves you alone again.
The door opens again and a woman walks in. She is beautiful. Her dark hair is long and flowing. Her eyes are tired, but full of life. Even her skin, pale as snow, is smooth and glowing. She carries a sheaf of papers in one hand and a steaming mug in the other. She wears a long brown dress that reaches below her knees and has a hooded cape that covers her head. It's a simple, yet elegant outfit perfect for a sorceress. The woman drops the papers and the mug on the ground next to the door and sits cross-legged in front of you. Her face is stern and unwavering. She waits for you to speak.
