Chapter 1: Chapter 1

A hundred monkeys jumping on the bed. That's what it sounded like when I opened my eyes. I blinked, but they kept on coming My room was dark. Really dark. I squinted, but the moonlight through the window was enough to see by. There were clothes strewn across the floor, but no bodies. It was a miracle.I jumped out of bed, my heart in my mouth, and ran across my room to the window. I threw open the curtains, and let the light" of the moon fill my room. It was bright, but not blinding. I could see my breath disappear into the cold air as I exhaled. The window was covered in ivy, and the ivy was crawling up the wall.It was a jungle in my room. A beautiful, magical, wonderful jungle. I sat up, my back aching, and my mind a j aime bien savoir (I love to savour) the wonder of the world. I watched the swaying of the ivy, the birds flying around my room, and the twinkling of the stars in the dark sky.
