Chapter 1: Chapter 1
My grandma cried over her dead fish.
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the fishHer hair was grey, but her eyes were still bright. She was wearing a long, dark dress that reached below her knees. The sleeves were rolled up to her elbows, and her skin was wrinkled from the sun, but she didn't look a day over sixty. I wondered what was wrong with her. Why was she crying? What had she done to deserve this?I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to make things worse, so I left her alone, but I didn't know what s wrong. The smell of the sea was strong in the air, and it was suffocating her. Tears streamed down her face as she waved to me, but she never stopped crying. I felt so bad for her. It was my fault.I should have brought her some fish. I should have made her some fish. I should have done something.
I ran my hand through my hair What am I supposed to do? Nothing. There's nothing I can do. She's my grandma and I love her, but right now she's choking on tears and I can't stop her from crying.
