In the beginning, there was darkness. And in the darkness, there was...a flower. A beautiful, glowing, purple flower.But it was a beautiful lie, and it suited her just fine.

The truth was that she was scared of the dark. It was so much darker than the light, you could barely see your hand in front of your face. And what was in the dark? Ghosts, ghouls, wraiths, and other unspeakable horrors. No, she would not give in to the darkness.She would not give in to anything. Not even to Paulius.

The next thing that happened was a blur. A beautiful, glowing, purple flick of a finger' blur. And then her eyes popped open. She sat up in bed, gasping in air, her heart pounding in her chest.
