Chapter 1: Chapter 1

The soft glow of the nightlight casts an eerie shadow across the room, a shadow that creeps along the wall and watches you as you sleep. I don't know about you, but I get creeped out by shadows. They're a sign of something not right, a portent of evil lurking in the dark. That's why I don't sleep with the lights on.It's also why I don't have a lot of friends. I'm a bit of a hermit, and I don't like people. I m fine with being alone, which is why I spend so much time on my computer and writing. My husband knows this, and is probably one of the reasons he lets me use the computer in our bedroom. The other reason is probably laziness.When I was young, I used to dream about my future husband. I would picture him in my head, and daydream about what our lives would be like. Then I grew up, and married my best friend instead. We're going to be married for four years this summer, and I can't wait.
