I'm going to sleep over at your place tonight, and I was wondering if you'd like me to sleep in your bed or if you'd rather I slept on the couch.
Alina considered the question for a moment. She knew what the answer would be, but she wanted to make sure that her friend was comfortable with the idea.
"Why don't you just come over here and I'll let you decide," she said, gesturing towards the couch. "We can talk more about it when we get home."
Merle nodded, and I could see her hesitate before making her decision. I waited until she made up her mind before responding.
"Okay, but only if you promise not to make me feel uncomfortable."
"I wouldn't dream of it," Alina said with a smile. "Come on, sleepyhead. Time for bed."
