Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Akai was a giantess. That is, she was a giant, but not a normal giant. She was the last giant, and – her voice trailed off as she stared at the boy she loved – "Yoshi is a tiny human boy. How can I love him when he is so small? What will happen to him if I crush him?What will happen to me?"
Her tears fell faster and faster as her thoughts became more and more desperate. She had been this way ever since she had met him. She had fallen in love with him. But she had not been able to touch him. She had not been able to hug him. She had not been able to kiss him. Why? Because he was too small. And she was too big. It was a dilemma. One that she had no answer to."I don't want to hurt you, Akai," said Yoshi, "But I can't help falling in love with you. I don have anyone else to compare you to, but you are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Even more beautiful than my mother."
"You are my life, Yoshi," she said, choking on tears, "And I yours. I only ask you to be patient with me while I get used to this size difference. I promise I will not hurt you."
Yoshi did not reply. He stood back as she teared up and sniffled, trying to hold them back from falling on his face. He was waiting for her to make the first move. But she was frozen. Waiting for what? For him to say it was okay to crush him? To prove that he could take it?
"I can take it" is what he said, over and over again. He was brave. I was scared shitless of him. "Patience, my love," he would say, stroking her hair, "It will take time for me to get used to your size and you to get used to mine. In the meantime, we can be together. I love you, my dear giantess."
This went on for weeks. But they would not snuggle. They would not kiss. They could not even touch. It was torture. But he was so damn cute.
Then one day he broke the silence. He reached for her pinky finger and held it between his tiny arms. "Come with me, my love. I need you to see something.I have been trying to show you this for weeks."
She let him led her across the garden to a spot where there was a tree stump surrounded by flowers. Underneath the stump was a bench made for two. They sat side by side, him on bench, her next to him, making a pit in the ground. Pit so deep Yoshi would die if he tried jump there. Even then he was facing away from her.
