Diluc's jaw clenched. He didn't want to admit that his brother was right.

Kaeya was staring at him, his eyes gleaming with delight.

"Yes, it is quite right," he said, his voice cracking. "I have made a terrible mistake."

"Mistake?"

"Yes, I have made a terrible mistake."

"Mistake?" "Yes... My love for you has blinded me..." His gaze fell on Kaeya again as tears welled up inside his eyes once more. "...and now my only regret is that I did not kill you when we fought during our last battle!" The words stung; they cut deep into what little pride Diluc had left after being defeated by his younger half-brother yet again.Tears streamed down his face as he looked back at Kaeya who stared back at him with pure joy shining through his dark eyes. For some reason seeing their bond strengthened brought a smile to Jean's lips even though her heart ached knowing there would never be anything between them other than hate and animosity. Even if she could make peace within herself, how can one ever make amends with such hatred?
