My best friend's boyfriend, Luke, says this as he steps out the door. He's wearing a dark jacket and has his hands in his pockets. "I love you, Kael," he says to my driver, "drive safe."

The air is crisp and the sun is shining through a soft cloud cover.The leaves on the trees are changing colors, from deep reds and oranges to the pure white of winter. It's beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer in this moment, but I have a date with destiny. I need to see my sister again. She lives in San Francisco and I live in L.A. It takes me four hours to drive there and back.
