Chapter 1: Chapter 1
I'm a werewolf.
I know it's not a very original thing to say, but it's the truth. I'm lycanthropic, if you will. My life revolves around two things: hunting and sex. The more the merrier. I don't care if it's human or animal meat I'm after, as long as it's fresh.I'm a predator, and I've always been a predator. I don't have a problem with other predators, as long as they don't get "uppity" and try to challenge me for my food. That's why I lived in the forest, away from civilization. It was safer that way.
Being born a werewolf let alone an Alpha wasn't something I hated, it was something I just had to get used to but the urges to hunt and fuck were hard to get a handle on. Even more so when humans started coming into my family's territory.
As werewolves there a sense of law and order still needed to exist amongst us, as such there is an unspoken rule. We do not kill humans, yeah that's right no matter how tasty or delicious they smelled we wolves can't touch them. And so for generations my family followed these rules keeping ourselves from being found out by the humans and maintaining order in our pack and it stayed that way until I did something monumentally stupid and broke that law by accidentally killing a human.
My parents, the leaders of my pack could not find it in their hearts to kill me so instead I was kicked out of the pack. I became a lone wolf, a title that for my kind is worse than death itself.
But that was five years ago, I live in Topanga Valley, California now, in a small apartment. I go to Linchons College in the hopes of integrating into society, forgetting my past and starting a new life. That's what I tell myself anyway. But the past is never really forgotten and it certainly doesn't go away just because you want it to.
It was a beautiful day in late autumn when I drove up to the college. It was the last day of school before winter break and I was sitting in English class trying not to fall asleep when a girl walked in late and sat next to me. "You know it's times like these to that I'd kill for somebody to pull the fire alarm" she joked, turning to look at her, she flashed me a friendly smile. She was beautiful, her wavy dark brown hair cascaded down unto her shoulders, her lips had on cherry rouge lipstick and light blush to highlight her olive skin.
Her brown eyes ran over me from head to toe while I sat there staring at her. Smirking at her joke I looked into her eyes and said "Well we don't necessarily have to stay here, there are a couple of on campus hideouts qwe could go, where it would be just you and me......." The words came out of my mouth before I could think of a better response.
"Ha ha ha, I can see that I'm going to have to have to be very carefully around you, I'm Leia Harper by the way" she said outstretching her hand for me to shake. "It's nice to meet you"
I took her hand and shook it "I'm Jason, Jason Liekens and it's a pleasure to meet you" as I touched her hand a familiar jolt ran through my body. My breathing quickened as I caught a wiff of her perfume, my muscles soon tensed and images of Leia and me kissing flashed into my head. I quickly released her hand before I started changing.
"Are you okay?" She asked as I turned away from her. "I'm okay, don't worry about it" I answered. Before I could finish reassuring her an annoying high pitched voice interruped our conversation "MISS HARPER WHILE YOU MAY BE THE HEAD OF THE CHEER SQUAD YOU DO NOT THE HEAD OF MY CLASSROOM!!!" We both turn to towards the source of the commotion to find a red faced English teacher slightly hyperventilating and quickly turning a light shade of purple. Leia instant perks up and begins speaking
"I'm very sorry Miss?......"
"Cox, but I guess you wouldn't think to remember that now would you Ms. Harper?" Ms. Cox said while aggressively pointing in our direction. "I guess not given that we all have more important information to remember" Leia said slightly smirking
"Grrrr, OUT BOTH OF YOU, YOU AND YOUR....." She stops speaking instantly as she looks my way, I sat leaning into my chair with my arms crossed as I stared right into her eyes with a menacing scowl. Unknowingly, Ms Cox started to slowly step back towards the chalkboard as sweat started beading down her forehead and her arms started trembling. By this point everybody was looking at both me and Leia. At this point I could smell her fear, hell I could taste it. Ms. Cox slowly inched for the door and I could feel how much she wanted to run and I was going to make her but Leia grabbed my shoulder and broke my concentration, "Let's go" she said. As soon as I turned towards her Ms. Cox collapsed on the floor breathing a sigh of relief causing the entire classroom to gasp and start murmuring about what just happened.
