Chapter 1: Chapter 1
The tavern was loud, drinks were flowing and people were having fun. The group had just gotten back into town after a job that went mostly okay. Darius was just happy to be back and able to have a drink. It had taken a bit of begging but he managed to convince Lyla to have one drink with the group to celebrate.
"Only one," she said. "Purely because your begging is sad."
Darius laughed at her comment and joined her in a drink. Perhaps it was the drinks or the many jobs they had been on together but Darius had begun enjoying their time together. He had never been with a woman like Lyla before. She was beautiful and captivating and he couldn't keep his eyes off of her. Before he could find the courage to say something, they were interrupted by Boris.
"What do you want?" Lyla hissed as she lowered her drink.
"I'm having a drink with my brother, Little Elf," Boris met her eye with the last comment. "I'm not letting you poison his mind with fey magic."
Lyla rolled her eyes but did not touch her drink anymore. She wasn't comfortable around Boris ever since their first meeting.
Seeing her pull away, Darius tried lightning the mood. "Come on Boris, can't you call her by her name?"Boris looked down at him and grinned. "You know her name is Nyx, don't you?"
"Yes, I know her name is Nyx but I like calling her Lyla, it makes me feel like I know her better," Darius said innocently.
"I am right here," Lyla hissed before getting out of her seat. "You two enjoy yourselves, I'm going to bed. Good night Darius," she offered him a small smile before making her way upstairs. Darius watched her go, his eyes lingering on her firm little ass as she walked away. Darius watched her go and felt his heart melt. She was beautiful and he wanted her so badly. He had never felt like this before. Not even with his former partners; Lyla was special. She was as beautiful as she was strong. Taking down enemies without a second thought. Someone he could rely on during the battle.
He hadn't realised he'd been staring until he heard Boris grunt.
"What?" Darius asked his brother. Boris turned to him and smirked.
Darius felt his cheeks get hot and he quickly looked away.
"Don't get trapped by the Fey, she'll steal your soul," Boris warned as he took another mouthful of ale.
"It's not like that Boris. She's a good ally and friend. That's all," Darius took a mouthful of ale. They were interrupted again by a group of men coming in through the back door. "Besides, what does it matter if I get captured by the fey? They won't kill me. They're not monsters."
"You re one hell of a liar, Darius," Boris said through his teeth as he slammed his mug down. "And I have no idea why you insist on lying to yourself. It makes you look stupid.Just admit that you're attracted to her and leave it at that."
"I'm not lying," Darius said as he swallowed his drink. "I think I'll go to bed as well. We have an early morning tomorrow."
Darius rose from his seat before bidding his brother good night and made his way up the stairs.
It took awhile for Darius to fall asleep, he blamed the alcohol. His whole body was hot and bothered, leading him to lower his hand on his member. He stopped himself from doing anything reckless and instead closed his eyes.
A dream about Lyla came to him. Dressed in a thin blue tunic that was loosened to reveal her breasts. Her golden hair was up in a crown. She was kneeling before him, her hands on his knees, her head between his legs. His member was at full erection in her soft mouth. He felt every sensation as she worked it with her warm mouth. His whole body felt as though it was on fire. In spite of everything, he awoke refreshed in the morning. The hangover wasn't too bad and his head didn't hurt. Maybe he had finally found someone worth fighting for.
The tavern was packed when he arrived and everyone seemed pleased to see him.
