Chapter 1: Chapter 1
"I want to become more beautiful."
Jessica rolled her eyes, but she didn't turn away from her friend. "You're already beautiful, as you are."
"No, I am not" Allison said.
"Why not? You like it when I try on clothes, don't you?"
"It's different when it's my own body."
"Your body? But I'm Mexican, and have no real curves to speak of. I've seen your sister and, both of you have some nice curves."
"My body doesn't have any curves."
You're hot, but me? my body is just kind of..." She stopped herself from finishing, because she didn't want to make the comparison. "Just flat, i'm not quite a stick figure, but i'm close to one."
"So you're saying you're flat?"
"Yeah, I know it sounds bad, but there's nothing really special about me. I mean, you're cute, but so are a lot of other girls. And you're smart, but so are a lot of other girls. And you're creative, but so are a lot of other girls. So what makes you so different? Why do you think guys go crazy over you?"
"Guys go crazy over me because I'm sweet, and friendly, and i'm myself, I don't try to be someone I'm not"
"And because you're so damn hot."
"Hey!"
"What? You know its true, Jess"
"But still... why do you think I'm so different?"
"Because I know that guys go crazy over you because you're hot, and you're sexy, and you're unique, and you're the girl who can open a can of whoop ass when needed."
What do you mean?"
"Don't play stupid with me, Jess. I know you're aware of how guys think. You've seen them ogling you while you're walking down the hall, with your boobs bouncing in your shirt. Hell, I've seen it even. They want you because you're different, because you're special, and because they can't have you. That's why they say things like 'Oh, she's so hot' or 'She's so sexy' or 'She's so unique'. It's code for 'I want you, but I can't have you. So please, just be my friend.' Okay, maybe it's not quite that simple, but that's what it means, and you know it."
"So what you're saying is that I'm so hot, guys want me even though they can't have me. Got it."
"And unique. And magical. Because you're the only one who can do magic, and that's why those guys follow you around. They want to see you perform, they want to see you change into something else, because you're that special. And they want to take part in that magic, because they know that if they could do that, then anything is possible."
"Anything is possible."
"Yes, it is.And I'm going to prove it to you, because I know you're going to want to do something amazing after Because if I were a normal girl, with normal curves, and normal skin, and normal hair, then I wouldn't need to do anything to look good. But since I'm not, I need to change the fact that I'm not.
"Time? You have all the time in the world. I'm going to become even better, maybe even someone else. "
"But you will, eventually. And when you do, I want to have the best transformation ever.
"Whatever you say, Allie."
"You're such a good friend."
"I know. I know. I'm a bit of a freak.But mostly, very sweet."
"Okay, enough with the sweet stuff. Time for some tough love."
"Love is nev-"
"Stop being so damn stubborn, Allie. You're going to ruin yourself if you don't stop fighting it. You're beautiful, you're smart, you're talented, and you're the center of attention because you're the only one who can do magic. That's why guys follow you around. That's why they call you The Princess. You're the only one who can do magic, and that makes you special. But you're also a bit of a handful, and you have to realize that there are other girls out there who are just as pretty, just as smart, just as talented as you. You have to let them shine too. You can't keep blocking the light, because you're so desperate to be the center of it.Light needs to spread, and you can't stop it from spreading. So stop fighting it, and just let it happen."
"How am I supposed to just let it happen? How am I supposed to just give up on myself? I'm not going to give up on myself!"
"Allie, please don't make this harder than it needs to be. I've been there before, and I know how hard it is to let go of your pride. But if you don't, then you'll end up hurting yourself.I've seen it happen many times before. I've watched you fight your way back from the brink, and I know you can do it again. But you have to let go of your pride, and stop fighting the fact that you're not perfect. Stop fighting the fact that there are other girls out there who are just as pretty, just as smart, just as talented as you. Let them shine too. Please."
"I can't. I won't. It's not my place. It's not my right. I'm not pretty, I'm not smart, I'm not talented, and I'm certainly not the center of anyone's attention. Not anymore. Not since they found out I can't actually do magic. They're going to find out soon, anyway. I can feel it.They're going to discover that I'm not actually a princess, and that I'm actually just another ordinary girl, like any other ordinary girl. And when they do, they're going to see me for what I really am, and they're going to leave me alone. They're not going to chase me away, because I'm not a threat. I'm not a monster. I'm not a freak.I'm just Allie."
"Please, Allie. Don't make this harder than it needs to be. I know you're trying to protect me, but sometimes you have to let go of your pride and just admit that I'm right. I'm always right, you know. Even if I am a little bit of a freak."
"Don't call me a freak, okay? I'm not a freak.
Allie, upset and decides she's going go to through with the changes she wants to make to herself. She remembers her spell book and pulls it out. Her friend, Jess leaves and her other friend and love interest, Katlyn enters the room and sees her with her spell book in hand .
