Jason is home alone while his wife Lia and her friend Emma are traveling on a girls trip. Late one night Jason gets a surprise text from Lia. The girls are drunk and in a jacuzzi together. They kissed and sent the picture to Jason. They continue to tease him, stripping for him and showing off their bodies to him. The night culminates in the girls naked in bed together texting back and forth with Jason.

Chapter 1: The Unexpected Text

The glow from Jason’s phone screen felt unnaturally bright in the darkened bedroom. Beyond the window, the city was a muted hum, the usual nighttime soundtrack of distant sirens and passing cars. Lia’s flight had left two days ago. Sun, sand, and endless cocktails with Emma – the belated girls' trip she’d been planning for months. He missed her warmth beside him, the way her hair fanned across his pillow. Down the hall, their toddler son, Noah, breathed the deep, even sighs of untroubled sleep.

Jason scrolled through baby pictures on his phone, a smile touching his lips despite the quiet ache of the empty house. Then, a notification lit the screen.

> Lia (11:47 PM): Jase… u awake?

He typed back, the cold glass smooth under his thumb.

> Jason (11:47 PM): Barely. Noah’s out cold. How’s paradise? You sound wrecked.

The three pulsing dots appeared, vanished, reappeared. He pictured her squinting at the screen, the way she did when tipsy.

> Lia (11:48 PM): Paradise is WET. And warm. So warm. Miss u. U shld be here.

> Lia (11:48 PM): Em’s being a BAD influence.

A second later, a photo loaded. Grainy, poorly lit, taken from a low angle. Steam rose in thick tendrils, obscuring the edges. Two bodies submerged in bubbling water. Lia and Emma, shoulders bare and gleaming wet, pressed close together in what looked like a large, tiled jacuzzi. Their faces were flushed, hair slicked back. Lia’s head was tilted towards Emma, eyes heavy-lidded, a sloppy, unfocused smile on her face. Emma, her blonde hair darkened by the water, grinned directly at the camera, her arm draped loosely around Lia’s neck. Empty cocktail glasses littered the tiled surround. The intimacy of it, the sheer carefreeness, hit Jason with a surprising jolt. He shifted against the pillows.

> Lia (11:50 PM): Seeee? Bad Em. Made me drink the purple one. Twice.

Before he could formulate a reply, another message popped up, this time from a different number.

> Emma (11:50 PM): Lies! Lia started it! Purple drinks are medicinal, Jason. Vacation science. Also… we did a thing.

The dots pulsed again, agonizingly slow. Jason’s thumb hovered over the keyboard. What ‘thing’? A third image materialized. Closer this shot. Their faces filled the frame. Lia’s eyes were wide, startled, her lips parted just slightly. Emma’s mouth was pressed firmly against Lia’s cheekbone, just below the eye. Not quite the lips, but devastatingly close. Lia’s hand was frozen mid-air, as if she’d been about to push Emma away… or pull her closer. Steam clung to their eyelashes. The image crackled with a raw, drunken charge.

> Lia (11:52 PM): EMMA! Omfg u sent that? Jase it was NOTHINg. She dared me. To kiss her. On the cheek! She missed!

> Emma (11:52 PM): Liar. You totally aimed for my mouth first. Missed by that much. winky face emoji

> Lia (11:53 PM): DID NOT! Jason, she’s lying! It was her dare! I just… leaned. Too far. Jacuzzi jet. Swear.

Jason stared at the photo. The flush on Lia’s skin wasn't just from the hot water. Emma’s expression was pure, mischievous triumph. A slow, unfamiliar heat spread through his chest, tight and demanding. His usual easygoing nature felt… stretched thin. He typed carefully.

> Jason (11:54 PM): Looks like a dangerous game of spin the bottle in there. You two okay? Besides the… near misses?

> Emma (11:54 PM): We’re fantastic. A little warm. Might need to cool down. Lia’s overheating. Aren’t you, Li?

Another photo. Wider angle. They’d leaned back against the jacuzzi edge. Lia’s head was tilted back, throat exposed, eyes closed. Water lapped just below her collarbones. Emma was turned slightly towards the camera, one hand braced on the tile behind Lia, the other trailing fingertips along the surface of the water near Lia’s waist. The suggestion, the deliberate framing… it was deliberate. Provocative. Jason’s breath hitched. The sheet felt suddenly restrictive.

> Lia (11:55 PM): Emma stop! Jason ignore her! She’s just… showing off her stupid bikini.

> Emma (11:55 PM): My stupid bikini? Honey, yours is practically painted on. Red really is your color. Show him.

> Lia (11:56 PM): NO!

> Emma (11:56 PM): Chicken. Bawk bawk. Fine. I’ll show mine first. For science.

Jason’s pulse hammered in his ears. This was spiraling. Fast. He should tell them to stop. To go to bed. Be the responsible husband. But his fingers felt numb. Another image loaded. Emma. Standing now, water cascading down her body. The low-cut red bikini top Lia mentioned was indeed minimal, clinging to curves highlighted by the wet fabric and the harsh overhead light. Emma smirked at the camera, one hand on her hip, the other holding her phone. The message arrived simultaneously.

> Emma (11:57 PM): See? Barely there. Your turn, Lia. Don’t leave Jason hanging. Or… me.

The pause felt endless. Jason stared at Emma’s picture, the confident tilt of her chin, the challenge in her eyes. Then, Lia’s icon flashed.

> Lia (11:58 PM): FINE. ONLY bc u r drunk and annoying and I want u to SHUT UP.

> Lia (11:58 PM): …and maybe bc Jase is watching.

The photo that came through wasn't of Lia standing. It was a closer shot, taken looking down. Water droplets beaded on smooth, tanned skin. The red bikini top was a scrap of fabric, the swell of her breasts prominent, water glistening in the deep cleft between them. Her shoulders were tense. It was vulnerable. Intimate. Arousing. Jason swallowed hard, a low thrum starting deep in his gut.

> Emma (11:59 PM): Told you. Red. Now… bed? I’m shriveling. Also, Jason? Still watching?

> Lia (12:00 AM): Bed yes pls. Em stahp texting him. He needs sleep. We need sleep.

Jason forced his fingers to move.

> Jason (12:01 AM): Sleep sounds like a great plan. Seriously. Go pass out. Text me sober tomorrow.

He set the phone face down on his chest, the images burning behind his eyelids. The quiet of the house pressed in again, magnified now by the frantic energy crackling from the small device. He took a slow breath, trying to regain equilibrium. The phone buzzed. Once. Twice. Persistent. He flipped it over reluctantly.

A new photo filled the screen. Not the jacuzzi. A hotel room. Soft, warm lamplight. A large, rumpled bed. And on it, bathed in that golden glow, were Lia and Emma. Not in bikinis. Not in anything. Skin on skin. Lia lay on her side facing the camera, one arm bent under her head, her expression drowsy, confused, a sleepy smile playing on her lips. Her bare hip curved softly. Emma was pressed against her back, one leg thrown possessively over Lia’s thigh, her face buried in the crook of Lia’s neck. Emma’s arm was slung low across Lia’s stomach, fingers splayed just below her navel. The sheet was tangled around their legs. Every line, every curve, every intimate press of flesh was starkly visible in the dim light. Utterly exposed. Utterly entwined. Not playing anymore.

Underneath, a message from Emma’s number blinked.

> Emma (12:03 AM): Bed acquired. Mission accomplished. Sleep’s overrated though, J. What do you think? Cozy enough?

Jason stopped breathing. The heat that had been simmering exploded into a hard, insistent ache that strained against the fabric of his boxers. He stared at the impossible image. His wife. Her best friend. Naked. Limbs tangled. The possessiveness in Emma’s pose, the yielding softness in Lia’s drowsy expression. It wasn’t drunken silliness anymore. It felt like… a threshold crossed. A point of no return witnessed through the cold light of his phone screen in his dark, empty bedroom. The silence roared. His thumb trembled over the keyboard, the glow illuminating his stunned face, caught between disbelief and a fierce, unwelcome surge of desire, utterly paralyzed by the question hanging in the charged darkness. What did he think? The answer felt like standing on the edge of a crumbling cliff.
