Chapter 2: Building Tension

The sun had begun to set, casting a warm, golden hue over the college campus as Owen walked briskly towards Greta's apartment. The crisp autumn air nipped at his nose, forcing him to bury his hands deeper into his pockets as he hurried along the cobblestone path. The sound of laughter and clinking glasses from the nearby pubs and cafes filled the air, but Owen barely noticed. His mind was preoccupied with the events of the afternoon and the anticipation of what was yet to come.

As he approached Greta's apartment building, he took a moment to appreciate its charming architecture.

The brick facade, the ivy creeping up the walls, and the vintage-style lampposts gave the place a cozy, inviting feel. He took a deep breath and made his way up the steps, his heart pounding in his chest like a drumroll.

He knocked on the door, and within moments, it swung open to reveal Greta, her blonde hair tousled, her cheeks flushed from the kitchen heat. She was wearing an apron over a simple white t-shirt and jeans, and she looked somehow both casual and incredibly attractive.

"Owen!" she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up with genuine pleasure. "Come in, come in.

I'm so glad you could make it," Greta said, stepping aside to let Owen enter. He shuffled in, his backpack slung over one shoulder, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"Thanks for having me," he said, his voice a little huskier than usual, betraying his nervousness. Greta closed the door behind him and led him into the living room. The space was cozy, filled with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and quirky decorations that reflected Greta's personality. The scent of vanilla and warm spices filled the air, making Owen feel instantly at ease.
