Kobeni was sitting in the tub, her belly exposed to the warm water. Her baby's heartbeat was strong and steady, and she d spent the better part of the afternoon cleaning herself from top to bottom in preparation for the big day. Now it was time for the final rinse, and she was going to bathe in the birthing pool instead of the tub.Her midwife had told her that the pool would help relax her tense and exhausted muscles after giving birth. It would also help with the blood loss I need to relax my tense and exhausted muscles" she said again to herself as she rubbed her belly.
