Chapter 3: Chapter 3
As Anastasia walked into the spacious rehearsal hall, she couldn't help but feel a wave of apprehension wash over her. The sun cast golden beams through the large windows, illuminating the gleaming wooden floorboards and reflecting off the mirrored walls, creating an almost celestial ambiance. Yet, the sight of Sergei standing rigidly near the entrance, his stern expression unmoving, sent a shiver down her spine.
"Today, we will commence with a new routine," Sergei announced, his voice reverberating throughout the expansive space.
"Anastasia, step forward."
Amidst muted murmurs and curious glances from her fellow dancers, Anastasia approached Sergei warily. The intensity of his gaze intensified exponentially, causing her knees to buckle beneath the weight of his scrutiny. His eyes were like two pools of ice, their depths unfathomable.
"First," Sergei commanded, positioning himself directly behind Anastasia, "we will attempt a series of pas de bourrées. Observe the correct alignment of your body, Anastasia.
" Sergei demanded, his commanding voice echoing through the pristine halls of the Russian International Ballet Company. "Your torso should remain parallel to the ground as you perform these delicate steps."
Anastasia inhaled deeply, steadying her nerves as she focused on executing the intricate footwork required for the pas de bourrées. She took a measured step forward, lifting one leg gracefully into the air before seamlessly transitioning into a swift shuffle across the stage.
Sergei's firm grasp on her waist guided her effortlessly between each delicate pas de bourrée, his warm breath tickling her neck as he intimately guided her next steps. Their bodies moved with a rhythmic synchronicity, as if guided by an unseen force connecting them both.
"Now, Anastasia," Sergei commanded, his voice breaking through the haze of their dance with startling authority. "Lift your right leg high, as if attempting to touch the heavens themselves."
Anastasia complied, arching her spine and reaching towards the sky with her foot extended.
Sergei adjusted her hip slightly, guiding her into the proper alignment. With every rise and fall of her leg, their bodies brushed against each other, igniting sparks of electricity that coursed through Anastasia's veins.
"Now, lower your leg and slide it forward, pivoting on your supporting foot," Sergei instructed, his voice softening somewhat, yet retaining its authoritative edge.
Anastasia executed the maneuver, her body moving fluidly like a swan gliding across water. Sergei's grip tightened around her waist, the pressure increasing with each deliberate step.
Anastasia closed her eyes, focusing solely on the sensations coursing through her body. Sergei's breaths became ragged, his heated breaths mixing with hers as they performed the pas de bourrées.
"Now, Anastasia," Sergei whispered, his hot breath sending goosebumps up her neck, "we will transition into an entrechat six. Be prepared to leap with grace and precision."
She nodded, her heart pounding in tune with the music. The tempo quickened, her feet barely touching the ground as she leapt higher than ever before.
Sergei's powerful grip remained steady, guiding her through the complex sequence of movements. The sound of their synchronized breathing filled the air, creating a rhythmic melody that only they could hear.
"That's it, Anastasia," Sergei murmured into her ear, his lips brushing against her neck. "Let go of your inhibitions and let your body flow freely."
His words resonated within her, striking a chord that unleashed a torrent of raw emotion.
