Chapter 5: Resolution
As Samantha watched the silhouette of Lilly walk away, a deep sense of sorrow welled up inside her. Tears stung her eyes, and she struggled to maintain her composure. With every step Lilly took, her heartache grew heavier. Unable to bear the pain any longer, Samantha turned and walked back into her home, closing the door behind her. The warmth of the house engulfed her, offering a brief respite from the cold reality outside.
She climbed the stairs, slowly making her way down the hall towards her bedroom.
