Chapter 5: Resolution
The next day, Amy calls Jade to her office. Insider her office, all of the other employees of the firm were standing near her desk. Amy says, "Jade, we need to talk."
Jade's heart drops into her stomach. "What's going on?" she whispers nervously.
Amy begins to speak, her voice wavering slightly. "Jade, I want to apologize for the way I've treated you since you started working here. My focus on large breasts has blinded me to your true worth as an employee. You're incredibly intelligent, hardworking, and dedicated, and I've let my prejudices cloud my judgment. I should have seen that sooner."
Jade's eyes widen in surprise as she hears these words. She feels a mix of emotions - relief, confusion, and hope. Could Amy really be apologizing?
"I understand that I may never fully appreciate the importance of your skills and experience, but I promise to try harder to respect your intelligence and talent.
Please accept my apology, and know that it's important to me that you succeed here." Amy pleaded, her voice cracking slightly.
Afterwards, several of the other women standing near Amy also offered Jade tearful apologies.
They expressed regret for their treatment of Jade and assured her that they were ashamed of their behavior. Some even admitted that they had secretly admired Jade's intelligence and determination throughout the years.
Jade, though initially taken aback by the sudden change in attitude, couldn't help but feel touched by their sincerity. Tears swelled in her eyes once again, but this time, they were of gratitude and relief. She realized that Amy and her team had underestimated her capabilities due to their shallow fixation on appearances.
Emboldened by the unexpected support, Jade exclaimed "Thank you!"
as tears filled her eyes. Amy's apology took her by surprise, but it was clear that there was genuine remorse behind her words. The other women present also apologized profusely, expressing their shame for their previous behavior. Jade's heart pounded with joy and relief – she now had the opportunity to prove herself and excel in her role.
Feeling rejuvenated, Jade returned to her office, ready to tackle her workload with renewed vigor.
Amy continued "to prove the sincerity of our apology, we've all taken -5% pay cuts, all of which will go to your salary. Jade, you're about to become the second highest paid employee in the firm!"
Amy exclaimed, proudly. She knew this would mean a lot to Jade, given her penchant for proving herself worthy. Jade's face brightened, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She was grateful for this unexpected turn of events.
Amy continued, "and don't worry, the entire company knows how much you've grown and how valuable you've become. We're thrilled to have you with us, Jade."
Jade felt her heart swell with happiness.
"Really?," Jade replied, struggling to hold back tears. Amy noticed the impact of her words and gestures, relieved that she had managed to connect with Jade despite their differences.
Then suddenly, Amy screamed "APRIL FOOL'S!!!"
Amy exclaimed triumphantly, her laughter echoing through the office. Jade stood frozen in disbelief, her heart plummeting into her stomach. Anger coursed through her veins as she realized she had fallen for Amy's cruel joke once again.
Amy continued "We've all actually gathered here to make an important announcement. After months and months of searching, we have finally found a new accountant!"
Amy screamed, "Oh, Sophia! You can come out now!" Suddenly, a blonde lady with big, bouncy bosoms, the largest Jade has ever seen, came out of the office locker.
Jade's eyes widened in horror. She knew this could only mean one thing - Amy had lied again. Her heart sank as she realized that Amy had no intention of apologizing or changing her ways. Jade couldn't believe it. Just when she thought things might be looking up, Amy had played another cruel trick on her.
"Come on, everyone," Amy said, clapping her hands together enthusiastically.
"Let's welcome our new accountant, Sophia!" The other employees, still caught off guard by Amy's April Fools prank, enthusiastically joined her in applauding Sophia's entrance. Jade, however, remained silent, her anger boiling beneath the surface.
Sophia strutted confidently towards the front of the room, her heels clicking against the floor. With a seductive smile, she announced, "Hello, everyone. It's nice to finally meet you all." Her eyes swept across the room, stopping briefly on Jade.
After the round of applause cooled down, Amy said "I also have one more announcement."
This statement left Jade feeling uneasy, as she sensed something wasn't right.
Amy continued, "Jade..."
"...yeah?" Jade responded nervously.
"Fuck off!" Amy screamed while pointing towards the exit.
Jade was being fired and replaced by the beautiful, bosomy blonde who had just come out of the office locker.
All of the other girls laughed and cheered and gave each other fist bumps as Jade ran out of the room and cried.
