Chapter 1: The Inflating Whimsigoth

Sally stretched on her rumpled bed, a long, cat-like motion that made the old springs groan. The fairy lights strung above her headboard cast a constellation of wobbling shadows across the clutter of her room—across the sad porcelain clown, the stacked tarot decks, the forgotten mug of cold tea. Her pajama top, printed with bright primary-colored balloons, pulled tight across her stomach.

She sighed, a contented sound that turned into a soft gasp halfway through.

It started low in her belly, a slow, deep unfurling of warmth. Not a cramp. Nothing sharp. It was a luxurious expansion, like the first truly deep breath after a day of wearing a too-tight bra. Her muscles relaxed completely, surrendering to the push from within. She looked down, curious.

The cotton over her midsection was definitely tauter. The yellow balloon right over her navel was now a perfect, stretched circle. She pressed a hand against it.

Her skin felt different. Not soft and giving, but smooth. Incredibly smooth, with a subtle resistance. Like… well, like a balloon.

“Huh,” she murmured to the empty room. “Weird.”

The expansion didn’t stop. It deepened, radiated outward. Her hips pressed wider into the mattress. The swell traveled up her torso, her rib cage delicately widening, a feeling of profound, weightless fullness. The seams of her pajama bottoms, sitting low on her hips, began to dig in. A shiver ran through her, straight down to her toes. It wasn’t fear. It was a bolt of pure, shocking pleasure.

“Oh,” she breathed, her voice husky.

She arched her back off the bed, biting her lip. The movement intensified the sensation. It was a slow, inexorable inflation, each centimeter gained sending another wave of delicious heat through her. Her skin took on a glossy, rubbery sheen in the fairy light glow, the tiny hairs on her arms seeming to retract, leaving a perfect, seamless surface.

She felt… incredible. Light. Buoyant. Stretched to a thrilling, aching limit.

The button on her pajama bottoms popped with a quiet plink and skittered across the floorboards. The waistband, now a cruel constrictor, strained. With clumsy, excited fingers, she pushed the soft fabric down over the curve of her expanding hips, kicking them off the bed. The cool air of the room kissed her new, smooth skin, making her shudder.

Now unimpeded, the transformation accelerated. She watched, mesmerized, as her body softened into a single, graceful curve. Her legs, round and seamless, lifted slightly off the mattress, as if she were resting on a cushion of air. Her arms grew pleasantly plump, her fingers shortening slightly, becoming delicate nubs.

The balloon print on her top wasn’t just a print anymore. It was a map, and she was the territory. The reds, blues, and yellows strained at the seams, the fabric groaning. Her breasts swelled, rounding perfectly, pushing against the now-tight cotton. Another button let go.Then another.

The pleasure was constant now, a thrumming, radiant buzz centered in her core. It peaked with each new breath—each inhale feeding the delightful swelling, each exhale a shuddering release. She ran her smooth hands over the vast, taut curve of her middle, feeling the incredible tightness, the thrilling lack of give. She was enormous, a giant, human-shaped balloon slowly filling the space of her own bed.

Her green hair fanned out around her head like moss on a stone. She giggled, a breathy, euphoric sound. “Okay, this is officially the strangest Friday night I’ve ever had.”

The neck of her pajama top was strangling her. She grasped the last remaining button, but her fingers were too blunt, the buttonhole too strained. With a soft rrriip, the seams at the shoulders gave way. The top became a loose, colorful necklace as her upper body completed its transformation into a single, immense, glorious curve.

She was entirely smooth. Seamless. A living sculpture of taut, rubbery skin. She felt a gentle pressure, an internal suggestion of… connection. A place where, if she focused, she imagined a knot might be. The idea sent another jolt of that electric pleasure through her.

The weightlessness was more pronounced. She experimentally pushed a hand against the mattress. Her whole body drifted upward, turning lazily in the air above her bed. She was floating. Just a few inches, but definitely floating.

The utter, impossible absurdity of it crashed into her, not as terror, but as giddy delight. A laugh bubbled out of her, full and rich. This was hers. This bizarre, arousing, wonderful thing.

From the nightstand, her phone buzzed, lighting up with a friend’s name. The screen cast a blue rectangle on the ceiling. The real world, knocking.

Sally reached out a smooth, rounded arm. The movement caused her to rotate gently in the air. Her blunt fingers brushed the phone, but couldn’t grasp it. It was like trying to pick up a coin with oven mitts on. She tried again, nudging it with the back of her hand. It skittered to the edge of the nightstand and fell.

Thud.

Silence, except for the hum of her own strange body.

The flickering light from the fallen screen illuminated something else on the floor. The torn pajama top. One of her tarot cards, fallen from the shelf—The Fool, with his little dog. And, glinting in the blue glow, the small, pearl-like button that had popped first.

She drifted there, a vast, buoyant moon in a room full of tiny, anchored things. The pleasure had settled into a steady, throbbing hum of potential. She felt incredible. Powerful. And utterly, completely trapped.

How, exactly, did one deflate?
