Telemachus and Ankoku are the only survivors of a nuke that had dropped somewhere in Big Bear Lake, where the two were having a vacation. When the dust cleared, their town was a post-apocalyptic wasteland, with destroyed buildings and stores.

Chapter 3: The Show Must Go On

The silence after Silas's threat wasn’t silence at all. It was the ragged scrape of Tel’s breathing, hitched and wet, the frantic hammering of Koko’s own heart against his ribs, and the low, insidious hum of the radio receiver still emanating from the satchel. Proof Silas was listening. Hungry for more. Tel lay curled on his side in the hammock, knees drawn up, face buried in the rough nylon, trembling uncontrollably. The drying streaks on his stomach were a grotesque map of Koko’s shame, the air thick with the sour-sweet stink of sex, fear, and the lake’s underlying chemical rot.

Silence wasn’t what Silas wanted.

"Tick tock, birdboy," Silas’s voice crackled, sharp as broken glass through the speaker. The static couldn’t hide the predatory anticipation. "Sounds a bit quiet over there. Did the little fucktoy break already? Or you need some… motivation?" The unspoken threat – the hunt beginning – hung like a noose.

Koko stood frozen by the shattered window, the grimy pane cool against his forehead. His knuckles were white where they gripped the rotten sill. He couldn’t look at Tel. Couldn’t face the broken shape in the hammock, the result of his own monstrous need twisted into compliance by Silas’s gun-to-the-head ultimatum. Revulsion churned in his gut, bile acrid in his throat. But the image of Silas’s rifle sight centering on Tel’s back as they fled the gas station was sharper, colder.

"He's... resting," Koko forced out, thumbing the transmit button. The lie tasted like ash.

"Resting?" Silas’s laugh was a dry rasp. "Bullshit. Didn't sound like resting. Sounded like he was taking it like a champ. Now, wake him up. I wanna hear him scream, birdboy. Not those pretty little whimpers. A real, fucking scream. Make him fucking scream."

Koko flinched as if struck. He turned slowly, dread a lead weight in his stomach. Tel had lifted his head slightly, eyes wide, glazed with fever and dawning, absolute terror. He’d heard. He understood the demand. His lips parted, but only a choked gasp came out. He shook his head minutely, a desperate, silent plea.

Koko’s talons scraped the floorboards as he moved. Each step was an eternity. He stopped beside the hammock, looming over Tel’s vulnerability. The dragon on the discarded hoodie seemed to watch with accusing eyes. "He wants a scream, Tel," Koko whispered, the words scraping raw. "He... he won't stop."

Tel whimpered, trying to curl tighter, to become smaller. "Please, Koko... no more... hurts... it hurts so bad..." His voice was a shredded whisper.

"I know." Koko’s own voice cracked. He couldn't stop this. He had to make the scream. The logic was monstrous, inescapable. Survival demanded degradation. His hand, trembling violently, reached out. Not to comfort. To command.

He gripped Tel’s hip, the sharp tips of his talons digging into the thin fabric of Tel’s briefs and the bruised skin beneath. Tel cried out, a sharp sound of renewed pain. With brutal efficiency, ignoring the flinch, the instinctive recoil, Koko hauled Tel onto his stomach. The hammock swayed violently. Tel’s face pressed into the nylon, muffling a sob. His bare back, pale and trembling, was exposed, the knobs of his spine stark.

Koko’s other hand went to Tel’s waistband. He yanked the jeans and briefs down past Tel’s ass in one rough motion. The clawed boots tangled in the fabric, pinning his legs awkwardly. Tel’s exposed ass was a canvas of abuse – the reddened, swollen pucker of his hole, still glistening faintly with Koko’s earlier spend, ringed by angry, abraded skin. The sight punched the air from Koko’s lungs. He did that. He made that ruin.

"Open wide, sweetheart," Koko growled, the forced obscenity thick and alien on his tongue. He spat. A thick glob of saliva landed directly on Tel’s trembling entrance, dripping slowly down the abused cleft.

Tel tensed, a full-body spasm of terror. "No! Koko, don't! Please! Not your–" His plea was cut off by a guttural, agonized scream.

Koko hadn't hesitated. Two talons, rigid and sharp, slick only with spit and Tel’s own lingering wetness, plunged deep into the tight, swollen ring without warning or preamble. It was a brutal invasion, tearing through clenching, unprepared muscle. The sound was obscene – a wet, tearing squelch followed immediately by Tel’s shriek.

It wasn't a cry of pain; it was the raw, animal sound of something being ripped apart from the inside. High-pitched, ragged, it tore from Tel’s throat, echoing off the ruined cabin walls, primal and devastating. He arched violently, spine bowing, hands clawing frantically at the nylon hammock, ripping it further. His legs kicked uselessly against the restraint of his tangled pants and boots.

"FUCK! OH GOD! STOP! STOP! IT'S TEARING! IT'S TEARING ME! KOKO! PLEA–" His babbling dissolved into another sustained, ear-splitting scream, raw and wet with tears and snot.

Koko held the talons buried deep, feeling the frantic, spasming clench of Tel’s insides around the rigid intrusion. The heat was scalding. The tightness was suffocating, resisting, fighting the unnatural violation. He twisted his wrist slightly, grinding the sharp edges against the torn, hypersensitive flesh inside.

Tel’s scream hit a new, shattered octave. His body convulsed, thrashing like a speared fish. "AHHHHHHH! NO! NO MORE! PLEASE! PLEASE! IT HURTS! IT HURTS SO MUCH! MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOOOOOP!"

The radio crackled. Silas’s satisfied groan was unmistakable, a low rumble of perverse pleasure. "Yeah... fuck yeah, that's it... music to my ears, little whore. Keep screaming for me."

Koko’s stomach heaved. He wanted to vomit. He wanted to rip the talons out, collapse, beg Tel’s forgiveness. Instead, he pushed deeper, spreading his fingers slightly inside that burning, clenching heat. He leaned down, his mouth near Tel’s ear, his voice a harsh, relentless rasp aimed at the radio. "Scream louder, slut. He likes it. Beg him to let you come." The words tasted like poison.

Tel was beyond coherent begging. His screams were continuous now, punctuated by desperate, gasping sobs. "Ah! Ah! Ahhh! Stop! Hurts! Please! Silas! Please! Make him stop! Silas! Please! I'll... I'll do anything! Just stop! STOP HURTING ME!" He was dissociating, babbling, offering anything to the unseen tormentor to end the agony. His body shook violently, sweat pouring off him, mingling with tears on the nylon.

Koko fucked the talons in and out with short, brutal strokes. Each withdrawal drew a wet, sucking sound, each re-entry elicited a fresh, piercing shriek. Tel’s hole felt looser now, inflamed, gaping slightly around the intrusion, but the pain was clearly undiminished, radiating through his entire body with every movement. Koko focused on the sound – the screams, the wet squelching, his own harsh grunts – pouring it all towards the radio, a symphony of degradation orchestrated by Silas.

"Fuck, yeah... take those claws, you little BioGen bitch," Koko snarled, twisting his wrist again, feeling Tel’s inner muscles spasm violently. "Scream for him! Louder!"

Tel obliged, his voice raw and breaking, a continuous, ragged wail of pure, unadulterated agony. His fingers scrabbled weakly, then went limp. He stopped fighting, stopped begging Silas. His screams became hoarse, breathless whimpers, his body trembling in shock, accepting the violation as endless torment.

The radio crackled one last time. Silas’s voice was thick, breathless. "Good... fuckin' perfect. Sounds like you broke him in real good, birdie. Real good." A low chuckle. "Keep him warm. I'm getting close. Don't go anywhere."

The line went dead. The sudden cessation of Silas’s voice, the end of the demand, snapped the taut wire holding Koko together. He yanked his talons free with a sickening, wet slurp.

Tel didn't scream this time. He just went utterly, terrifyingly limp. A low, broken moan escaped his lips, followed by shallow, rapid breaths. Blood, dark and shocking against his pale skin, welled from his abused entrance, mixing with spit and spend, dripping onto the torn nylon.

Koko stumbled back, crashing against the crumbling wall. He stared at his own talons, slick with blood and viscous fluid. The enormity of what he had just done – the depth of the violation he had inflicted on the person he was supposed to protect – crashed over him. He doubled over, retching violently, bile and watery fluid splattering the dusty floorboards. He heaved until his ribs ached, tears burning his eyes, not of sadness, but of pure, visceral self-loathing.

Silas was coming.

The thought cut through the haze of nausea and shame. Survival instinct, raw and primal, surged. He couldn’t stay here. Couldn’t face Tel. Couldn’t face himself. But he couldn’t leave Tel like this.

Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, trembling violently, Koko forced himself to look. Tel hadn’t moved. He lay prone, trembling minutely, his breathing shallow and rapid, eyes staring blankly at the torn fabric inches from his face. The blood on his ass was a stark accusation.

Koko moved on autopilot. He found a relatively clean rag in his satchel, dampened it with precious water. His talons retracted with a soft click, reverting to trembling human hands. He knelt beside the hammock, his touch feather-light, terrified of causing more pain. Gently, with infinite care that felt like a mockery, he dabbed at the blood and mess between Tel’s legs. Tel flinched at the first touch, a full-body shudder, but didn’t resist, didn’t make a sound beyond those shallow, rapid breaths.

Koko pulled Tel’s briefs and jeans back up, wincing as Tel whimpered softly at the pressure. He maneuvered him onto his back again, ignoring the dried streaks on his stomach. Tel’s eyes were open but vacant, staring past Koko at the sagging roof. His fever felt hotter than ever to Koko’s touch.

"Tel?" Koko whispered, his voice rough with tears and bile. "Tel, talk to me. Please."

No response. Just the unnerving blankness, the too-rapid breathing. Koko pressed trembling fingers to Tel’s neck. The pulse fluttered like a trapped bird, weak and erratic. Panic seized Koko anew. Not just shock. His healing kiss... had it failed? Had he broken something deeper?

He leaned down, panic overriding everything else. "Heal, damn you," he breathed, pressing his lips desperately to Tel’s forehead, pouring every ounce of his own shattered will into the contact. Fix what I broke. Fix him.

The familiar warmth flowed, the faint golden glow Koko had seen before flickering beneath his eyelids. Tel’s rapid breathing hitched, then slowed marginally. The trembling lessened, the terrifying vacancy in his eyes receded just a fraction, replaced by a dazed, exhausted awareness. He blinked slowly, focusing with immense effort on Koko’s face hovering above him.

"K...Koko?" The word was a cracked whisper, thick with confusion and residual terror.

Relief, sharp and painful, flooded Koko. It worked. At least physically. The bleeding stopped, the worst internal tears sealed. But the emptiness in Tel’s gaze, the flinch when Koko moved, spoke of wounds no kiss could mend. "Yeah," Koko choked out. "It's me. We... we gotta go. Silas is coming."

Tel’s eyes widened slightly. Fear, raw and immediate, washed over the daze. He tried to push himself up, but his arms gave out, trembling violently. "C-can't... weak..."

Koko didn't hesitate. He scooped Tel up, bridal style, ignoring the groan of protest and the fresh wave of shame at the intimate contact. Tel’s body was limp, burning against him. He grabbed his satchel, Tel’s discarded hoodie, and the backpack. The radio receiver he left buzzing faintly on the floor, a discarded tool of torture.

He kicked open the ruined door, its remaining hinge groaning in protest. The twilight outside was deepening into a murky, toxic night. The lake was a black mirror, reflecting nothing. From the woods downslope, too close, came the unmistakable crunch of boots on deadfall. A flashlight beam swept erratically through the skeletal trees.

Silas. Almost here.

Koko’s wings snapped open with a rustle of tense feathers. He clutched Tel tighter against his chest, feeling the frantic, febrile heartbeat against his own. "Hold on," he breathed, the words lost in the wind as he launched himself into the suffocating twilight, not towards the poisoned water, but upwards, into the thickening, chemical-laced fog that clung to the higher slopes, carrying the broken weight of his only reason for living deeper into the desolate unknown. The cabin, with its echoing screams and unspeakable violation, shrank below them, swallowed by the vengeful dark.
