Chapter 1: Keg Stand Confessions
The bass from the speakers downstairs thrummed through the floorboards, a constant, primal vibration that Brittany felt in her molars. The keg room was a sweatbox, a cacophony of shouts and sloshing liquid and laughter that skirted the edge of hysteria. The air clung to her skin, warm and thick with the smell of spilled beer, weed, and something sharper, chemically sweet.
“Jesus, it’s packed,” Brittany yelled over the noise, her eyes wide as she took in the dozens of bodies pressed together.
Laura just smirked, her dark curls bouncing as she shouldered her way through the crowd, dragging Brittany by the wrist. “That’s the point, newbie. You wanted a real frat party? This is it.”
They reached the makeshift bar—a plywood sheet over two sawhorses, laden with handles of cheap liquor and a single, sweating aluminum keg. A shirtless guy with a faded Greek letter tattoo on his chest was manning the tap, his eyes immediately raking over Laura’s cropped football jersey, the hem stopping just below her breasts, and then down to Brittany’s tiny pink skirt.
“Ladies! Welcome to the jungle,” he bellowed, handing them two plastic cups already overflowing with foamy beer. “Keg’s dying. Last call for the wicked."
Laura accepted hers with a wink, knocking back a huge gulp. Brittany followed suit, the bitter, watery taste making her shudder. It was terrible. She loved it.
“Loosen up, B,” Laura whispered, her mouth close to Brittany’s ear. Her breath smelled like candy and vodka. “Look around. Every guy in here is staring at you.”
Brittany did. In the fractured, spinning light of a single bare bulb, she saw them. Leaning against graffiti-covered walls, perched on beaten-up couches stained with mysteries, their eyes were dark, hungry points fixed on the two of them. A flush, warm and entirely different from the heat of the room, spread up from her chest to her cheeks.
“I feel like the main course,” Brittany murmured, but there was a thrill in it, a dizzying sense of power.
“We are,” Laura said simply. Then her voice dropped, a conspiratorial curl to it. “Remember your first time? In Jeff Henderson’s pool house? You were so nervous you almost puked.”
“Shut up,” Brittany laughed, shoving her playfully.
“I’m just saying. You got over it. Fast. You loved it. You are a loves-to-get-fucked girl, Brittany. You just forget sometimes.” Laura’s hand, cool from the cup, settled on the small of Brittany’s back. “Tonight, remember.”
The shirtless frat brother, whose name was apparently Chase, leaned over the plywood. “Keg’s tapped. Ritual time. New girls do the honors.” He gestured to the silver barrel lying on its side in a plastic tub of murky ice water. “Gotta get the last drops out. Best method wins.”
A roar of approval went up. The crowd, a mix of girls in scant dresses and guys in backwards caps, pressed closer, forming a tight, eager circle around the keg. Brittany’s heart hammered against her ribs. This was it. The immersion.
Laura didn’t hesitate. “We got this,” she said to Chase, her voice clear and challenging. She turned to Brittany, her eyes glittering. “On three. Classic pump. Make it sexy.”
Brittany’s initial hesitation melted. The beer, the eyes, Laura’s unwavering grin—it all fused into a single, compelling directive. Yes.
On the count of three, they bent at the waist over the cold metal of the keg, heads tilted to where the tap protruded. Brittany’s pink miniskirt, already short, rode up, exposing the bare swell of her ass cheek, the thin strip of her lavender thong. The crowd whooped. She felt the cool air, then the heat of their stares on her skin. It was like a physical touch.
Laura, beside her, was arched beautifully, her jersey riding up to expose the smooth, taut skin of her back and the full, bare curve of her ass. She wasn’t wearing anything underneath. A deeper, more visceral cheer erupted.
“Suck it out, ladies!” someone shouted.
Brittany put her mouth to the tap, the metal tasting of iron and old beer. She pulled, hard. A pathetic trickle of warm, foamy liquid hit her tongue. The crowd groaned in mock disappointment.
As she strained, back arched, she felt Laura’s hand on her. Not helping. Exploring. Laura’s palm smoothed over the curve of Brittany’s ass, a possessive, intimate stroke. Brittany flinched, then leaned into it, a low hum escaping her throat against the metal tap.
Laura’s voice was a hot whisper in the din, for Brittany alone. “Remember last semester? After we won regionals? The entire basketball team. In that locker room. The steam on the tiles.” Her fingers dipped, tracing the damp edge of Brittany’s thong. “You came so hard you cried.”
The memory slammed into Brittany, visceral and bright—the smell of sweat and industrial cleaner, the slap of skin on wet concrete, the ring of grinning faces. Her body clenched. A thin stream of beer finally flowed, and she swallowed greedily.
Laura’s fingers pushed, just a little, sliding beneath the fabric, finding her slick and already hot. Brittany gasped, her hips jerking forward against the unyielding keg.
The room erupted. The cheer was deafening, animal. It wasn’t about the beer anymore. Chase was watching, his mouth slightly open, one hand absently adjusting himself through his jeans. Other guys had phones up, screens glowing like alien eyes in the dark.
Laura straightened up slowly, leaving her hand where it was, a bold claiming. She licked her lips, pulling Brittany up with her. Brittany stumbled, her legs weak, her face flushed with arousal and abandon. The line between performance and reality had vaporized.
The line between performance and reality had vaporized. The roar of the crowd was inside Brittany’s skull now, a static hum of pure adrenaline. Laura’s hand slipped away, leaving a tingling heat on her skin. Chase shoved two fresh red plastic cups into their hands, this time filled to the brim with amber liquor and a splash of neon-green mixer. “For the champions,” he grinned, his eyes lingering on the damp patch on Brittany’s thong.
“Bottoms up, unless you’re bottoming out!” some guy yelled from the back. The laughter was loud, grating, and exhilarating.
Brittany tipped the cup back. The liquor was smoother than the beer, sweet and chemical. It burned a clean path to her stomach, fanning the fire already there. Laura drank hers in one long, practiced gulp, slamming the cup down on the plywood. “Again,” she demanded, her voice husky.
Chase complied, refilling them from a bottle of cheap whiskey. The ritual repeated. Drink. Cheer. The circle of bodies tightened, the air growing thicker, more intimate. Hands—anonymous, claiming—brushed their arms, their hips. A finger traced the strap of Brittany’s tank top. She didn’t look to see whose it was.
“C’mon,” Laura said, pulling her away from the keg towards a stained, sagging plaid couch shoved against the wall. Two guys scrambled up to make room. Brittany fell into the cushions, Laura collapsing half on top of her, a tangled, giggling mess of limbs and sparkling eyes.
A guy with a shoulder-length surfer haircut and glazed eyes slid onto the low coffee table in front of them. He held a small, polished stone tray. On it, a few lines of fine white powder gleamed under the bare bulb like meticulously drawn cracks in ivory.
“Fuel for the fire,” he said, his voice a lazy drawl.
Laura didn’t hesitate. She leaned forward, a dark curl falling over her face as she placed a rolled-up twenty-dollar bill to her nostril. With a sharp, efficient snort, one line vanished. She tilted her head back, eyes closed, a slight tremor running through her shoulders. When she opened them, they were darker, sharper, the pupils swallowing the deep brown of her irises. A slow, serene smile spread across her face. “Your turn, B. Don’t be a baby.”
The room seemed to tilt, focusing on the tray. Brittany’s heart was a frantic bird. She’d never. But Laura’s expectant gaze, the waiting circle of guys, the entire charged atmosphere of the night demanded it. This was the final door. Taking the bill from Laura’s fingers, her own hands surprisingly steady, she bent forward. The powder smelled sharp, medical. She blocked one nostril, put the bill to the other, and inhaled.
It was a cold, sudden sting, then an instantaneous numbness that spread through her sinuses to the back of her throat. For a second, nothing. Then, like a switch flipping, the static in her head clarified into a brilliant, buzzing silence. Every sense sharpened. The grimy texture of the couch against her thighs, the taste of whiskey and chemical drip in her throat, the individual pores on the face of the guy offering the tray—all of it was hyper-real, stunningly immediate. A boundless, electric confidence surged up her spine.
“Fuck,” she breathed, the word tasting incredible in her mouth.
“Yeah,” Laura whispered, her lips against Brittany’s neck. “See?”
The party, which had momentarily paused for the spectacle, erupted back into chaotic motion, but faster now, brighter. The music’s beat separated into distinct, percussive layers. Brittany felt she could reach out and touch the sound waves.
Another cup appeared. They drank. Someone passed a joint; the smoke mixed with the chemical burn in her nose, a dizzying cocktail. Laura’s hands were on her again, more insistent now, roaming over Brittany’s stomach, cupping her breast through the thin fabric of her tank top. Brittany arched into it, turning her head to capture Laura’s mouth in a sloppy, whiskey-wet kiss. The cheer that went up was guttural, approving.
When they broke apart, panting, the world was a shimmering tableau of desire. Chase was there, kneeling in front of the couch, his hands on Brittany’s knees, pushing them apart. His calloused thumbs stroked the insides of her thighs. “You two are fucking unforgettable,” he muttered, his voice thick.
Brittany looked down at him, from what felt like a great height. The cocaine wired her focus, narrowing it to this moment, this feeling, these hands. She ran her fingers through his sweaty hair, not a caress, but a claim. Laura was working on the button of his jeans, her movements fluid, deliberate.
The narrative of the night was no longer about a party. It was a fevered, sensory chase toward a singular, glittering point of release. The drinking was a fuel. The powder was a key. And every touch, every whispered profanity, every shared look was turning the lock.
