Chapter 1: The Provocation in the Pit
The bass hit like a physical force, a throbbing wave that vibrated up through the soles of Jack’s boots and into his bones. The air was thick and hot, heavy with the smell of spilled beer, cheap perfume, and the honest sweat of a hundred bodies pressed together. Neon lights splashed acid green and bloody red across the swirling smoke, catching the gleam of pierced nostrils and the sheen on bare shoulders. On stage, the guitarist shredded a solo that was pure noise and fury, and the crowd roared its approval, a single organism lost in the rhythm.
Jack leaned back against a sticky pillar, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched the chaos. At fifty-two, he knew he stood out, a rugged oak in a forest of saplings. His leather jacket, worn soft with age, felt like a second skin. His eyes, crinkled at the corners, scanned the room with a predatory ease until they landed on her.
Bobbi was a force of nature, trapped in the swell of the crowd but utterly unconquered by it. Her head was thrown back, a curtain of dark hair swaying as she moved to the music, all primal grace and confident sway. The neckline of her tight black shirt was low, hinting at curves he remembered well. She caught him staring and didn’t look away. Instead, she smiled, a slow, challenging curl of her lips that promised trouble.
He pushed off the pillar and shouldered his way through the sea of people, the heat intensifying with every step. When he reached her, the music swallowed any need for greeting. He simply moved into her space, his body aligning with hers until they were dancing, a fraction of an inch apart. The electricity between them was a live wire, crackling in the charged air.
“Missed this,” he growled into her ear, his voice barely a ripple in the sonic tsunami.
“Missed what? The terrible music or the overpriced beer?” she shot back, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
“The view,” he said, his hands finding her hips, pulling her closer until he could feel the whole length of her against him.
She laughed, a low, throaty sound that vibrated through his chest. “You’re full of shit, Jack.”
“Always.” His hands slid from her hips, around to the small of her back, possessive and sure. The song slowed to a grinding, heavy riff, the lights dimming until they were mostly shadows in a room full of shadows. Seizing the cover, his thumb stroked the fabric over her spine before one rough, callused hand moved up, cupping her breast through her shirt. He kneaded the soft weight, his thumb circling her nipple until he felt it harden.
Bobbi’s breath hitched, a sharp intake that was all the reward he needed. But she didn’t melt into him. Her own hand snapped down, swift and deliberate, palming the hard bulge straining against his jeans. She squeezed, not gently, and he grunted, his hips jerking forward involuntarily.
She leaned in, her lips brushing his ear as the guitarist hit a sustained, screaming note. Her voice was a low, gravelly growl that cut through the noise straight to his core. “Keep teasing me,” she breathed, her grip tightening, “and I’ll drop to my knees and suck you dry where everyone can see.”
The threat hung in the air, audacious and electric. It wasn’t a plea; it was a promise, a challenge flung right back in his face. For a heartbeat, they were frozen in the pulsating dark, a standoff of pure, raw want. The crowd surged around them, oblivious.
Jack’s smirk returned, wider this time. He liked this game. He loved how she never just took it, how she gave as good as she got. “Promises, promises, Bobbi.”
“Try me.”
The stage lights blasted back on, a blinding white strobe that illuminated the sweat on their faces and the defiant spark in her eyes. The moment broke, but the tension didn’t. It coiled tighter, a spring ready to snap.
Bobbi held his gaze for a long second, then gave his cock one last, deliberate stroke through the denim. Jack looked right back at her, "You might be surprised how the effect on the crowd right here might be if you do" with a challenging glint in his eyes.
