So when dusk settled over the forest, and shadows lengthened across its trees, I decided nothing would happen then either. That way, if things turned out bad, I could blame the rain. It was a win-win situation.
It was dark, and I was scared.Really scary. There weren't any streetlights, not even close ones. If there were, they'd probably have been stolen by the time I got em. So it was up to me to light my way through the forest. I had a headlamp, but I never used it.Not since that fateful evening when I met her. She taught me how to use them properly—how not to blind myself while using them at night. I should have listened to her. Instead, I spent months trying to see in the dark without them, and it led me nowhere. Now I was in the woods, and it was pitch-black apart from the stars.
