Chapter 5: Resolution
As Brittany gazed down at her motionless husband, her heart pounded in her chest. Regret and satisfaction warred within her, the two emotions entwined like vines in a treacherous dance.
She wanted to feel remorse for her actions, but the rush of power that coursed through her veins was intoxicating. Brittany couldn't help but revel in the knowledge that she finally had control over her own destiny.
Gathering herself, she surveyed the scene before her. The once pristine living room was now strewn with debris, the remnants of her brutal victory over her husband. She steeled herself, knowing that she must confront the consequences of her actions. Brittany decided to clean up the mess before leaving the house.
She dragged Jeff's lifeless body to the garage, placing him gently on a tarp. Using an old shovel, she dug a deep hole, carefully burying her husband. As she filled the grave, she couldn't help but smirk at the irony of her situation. Life had a strange sense of humor sometimes.
After tidying up the living room, Brittany collapsed onto the couch, exhausted. As she sank deeper into the cushions, she couldn't shake the feeling of guilt that lingered in the back of her mind. Was this truly the price of freedom?
