Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Ava was late third time this week. She had been summoned by her boss to his cabin. The one she had never wish she had meant in the first place. But as she was rushing towards his cabin, she collided with a man.
Ava stared at the man in front of her. He was tall, broad shouldered and looked like he could bench two of her I don't know what to do" she murmured to herself. She felt exposed standing there as if she was her skimpy bikini and wondered if this was some sort of test of courage. What would happen if she ran away? Would he chase after her?Would he kill her?
Ava shook her head slightly. This was not a test. This was real life. She had to face the consequences "Miss Roberts, I told you to wait in the car," Mr. Reiner said as he gestured towards the parking lot. "You are late again." She realized it was the same boss she was summoned to meet. It is not my fault this time. You have to bear the consequences."
Ava felt tears welling up in her eyes. She hated being punished for something she didn't do on purpose. I'm sorry, mister, but I can't help being late. It's not my fault."
"Well, Miss Roberts, I am going to have to write you up for this.You are late every time I summon you. I expect you to be on time from now on," Mr. Reiner said as he opened his door and stepped into his office. "If you are late again, I will dock your pay."
"I am not finished yet," she snapped as she hurried towards the steps. "And don't come any closer. I don't need your help." He stopped in his tracks and looked at her for a second. His eyes were tired. He needed sleep. Badly. "Fine. Be that way. I need not worry about you being late any longer, because you are fired"
