Jules is Poe Dameron's official mechanic and even though he works for Poe and spend lots of time with him, he struggles to act completely normal around his crush.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

As usual, Jules found himself on one of the Resistance aisle looking for something to do, or at least someone to tell him what to do. The past few weeks there were lacks of x-wings to repair as a result of an uncommon peace in the galaxy. Jules didn't care, he preferred this instead of thousands of injuried rebels and completely broken ships but he couldn't get out of his mind what that would've mean. If the empire was attacking... that would've mean he could see Poe Dameron every day pacing his aisle from side to side, looking stressed but also hot as hell. He would talk to him about the repair work for his x-wing and Jules could talk with him without looking like a creepy dude who's obsessed with Dameron.

Jules shook his head and returned to the mechanic's bay, whereupon he once again found himself staring at the hulking mass of metal and wires that was Poe Dameron's x-wing. He was sitting in his seat, eyes glued to the screen in front of him, breathing in deeply. This was his place of employment after all. Jules sighed feeling somewhat guilty considering how often the man sat in that seat.

Poe looked up at the sound of Jules' footsteps, his face lit with a brilliant smile. "Hey, Jules!" he said, his voice deep and booming. "What's it look like?"

"It looks like you have a broken power generator," Jules said, unable to not sound as though he was straining against the weight of the universe. "I'm going to need to check the entire ship from top to bottom."

"No you won't," Poe said, his eyes drifting back down to the screen. "Because I'm going to take care of it myself. You just make sure that piece of shit works tomorrow."

Jules sighed. "Yes, sir."

"And, Jules," Poe said, his mouth curling up at the sides. "I would appreciate it if you could give me a few minutes of your time. I'd like to speak to you in private."

"Anything for you, sir," Jules said with a nod. He glanced around a bit. "Where's your co-pilot?"

"Oh, she's been gone for a while," Poe said, scratching his head. "I think she's dealing with some personal issues."

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense," Jules said, wondering why he even bothered asking.

"So, what do you need?" Jules asked, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall next to the door.

"I need you to come with me because I think we've reached an agreement."

"Uh-huh," Jules said, not committing to anything. He hated it when people kept secrets. Especially men. "Come on," Poe said, standing up and pulling his jacket onto his shoulder. "I need you to become my co-pilot..."

Dameron couldn't even finish his sentence when Jules eyes opened widely and his mouth drop "No you don't" he said shaking his head. "Yes I do" Poe frowned looking at the boy's scared expression. "I need a co-pilot for the next mission and I've seen you flight Jules, you're pretty good.."

"I'm a mechanic not a pilot" blurted Jules sitting down on the spaceship floor, cutting Poe's words again.

"I know" laughed the pilot "Could you let me talk for a minute, please? I'm trying to make a point"

Jules nodded feeling ashamed of his immature attitude.

"Well, as I was saying, I need a co-pilot since my latest one ran away..."

"You said she had personal issues, nothing about running away" interrupted Jules once again, confused about Dameron's lie and then realising about his behaviour towards the pilot.

Poe grinned at the face of realization Jules made and, without thinking much about it, he put his hand over Jules mouth to stop his talking.

"Okay I might have said a small lie about why my exco-pilot left but I thought that if you knew.. well you wouldn't accept to replace her" Poe sighed looking down at Jules who looked at him with wide eyes since his hand quiet him. "She actually just dumped me because to be honest I was being a pain in the ass. Couldn't blame her, I suck at team works but you know, some missions require it and shit"

Jules made an attempt of talking, letting out a muffling sound instead.

"Oh you want to talk, right?" Jules nodded in agreement "Are you going to interrupt me again when I'm talking?" Poe asked funnily with a smile, making Jules blush while he shook his head. "Promise?" The mechanic nodded again and Poe removed his hand. "Good boy" The pilot commented under his breath making Jules' body shiver and causing a tight feeling on the bottom part of his jumpsuit.

He cleared his throat with a nervous smile and said "So you just need me as your co-pilot because is required and no one else can't stand you"

"I didn't say it like that but it works for me. Would you do it?" Poe asked with a hopeful expression.

"I don't know Dameron... It won't work. I don't have the skills or the training needed" "Bullshit" the pilot said "Believe me, you're fine. And don't worry it's not like we're going to fight Mr Kylo Ren. It's just a recognition mission and it won't last more than a couple of weeks" Jules laughed making Poe smile slightly "Weeks? Trapped with you in this ship?" "A dream, I know" joked him ruffling his hair "More like a nightmare. C'mon Poe you just admited you were a pain in the ass to your last co-pilot. Why would It be different this time?" "Because you're different" he simply said like it was nothing "Don't get to judgy yet Jules, I'm not asking you to marry me or to be my co-pilot for the rest of your life. It will be just this time and I'm sure you'll enjoy it." "So you promise to not be an asshole or get to bossy, right?" Jules asked pacing the ship with his arms crossed and failing to hide his smile. "Again, I didn't say that but.. I'll try. Just for you, darling" Poe said following each of Jules' steps.

Jules couldn't believe he had the one and only Poe Dameron practically begging him to accompany him on his mission. The suddenly attention he was receiving from the pilot was mostly strange but also very nice. He obviously had to do it, who could deny the opportunity of spending time with his crush alone? He sure wouldn't.
