Chapter 2: The Night Wish
The torn polo shirt was a prison. The seams screamed as he stocked cans of soup on the low shelf, the fabric biting into the new acreage of his back and shoulders. Every time he reached up, the hem rode up, exposing a strip of taut, tan stomach dusted with dark hair. He kept his head down, avoiding the security cameras, willing the clock to move faster.
“Leo? Hey, earth to Leo.”
The voice was light, melodic. It pierced the fog of his concentration like a laser.
Maya stood at the end of the aisle, a clipboard tucked under her arm. She was wearing a simple green dress, the kind that looked casual but clung just right. Her brown hair was in a loose ponytail. She was smiling, but it was her usual polite, co-worker smile. The one she gave everyone.
His heart, a massive drum in his newly reinforced chest, began to pound a chaotic rhythm. Blood rushed in his ears, a hot, confusing torrent. He could smell her from ten feet away—not just her perfume, but the scent of her skin underneath, something clean and subtly sweet. It was overwhelming.
“Yeah. Sorry. Just… zoning out,” he said, his voice a gravelly rumble that didn’t sound like his own. He cleared his throat, trying to soften it.
She took a step closer, her eyes scanning the shelf. “Need a hand with the rest of that pallet? Gary said it has to be done before lunch.”
“Got it,” he grunted, turning to lift a box. He felt her gaze on him. Not a sigh of boredom. A look of… scrutiny.
“Did you start working out?” she asked, her tone conversational. “You seem… different.”
The question was a bolt of electricity. He fumbled the box, his thick fingers nearly crushing the cardboard. “Uh. Yeah. A bit. Trying to, you know, get in shape.” He dared a glance at her.
She was still looking at him, her head slightly tilted. Her eyes weren’t dismissive. They were curious. They tracked the split seam on his shoulder, the way his bicep strained the sleeve. A faint pink touched her cheeks. It might have been the fluorescent light. He prayed it wasn’t.
“It’s working,” she said, and then, as if catching herself, she gave a little laugh and tapped her clipboard. “Anyway, just checking. Don’t kill yourself on that pallet.”
She walked away. He watched the swing of her ponytail, the shift of her hips under the dress. The image burned itself onto his retinas. The simple, kind words echoed in his skull. It’s working.
A surge of something hotter and more urgent than pride flooded his system. It concentrated low in his gut, a heavy, insistent pressure. His new body responded instantly, viscerally. He felt himself thickening, hardening against the rough fabric of his work pants. It was immediate, and immense.
Panic sliced through the arousal. He couldn’t stand up straight. He dropped the box, mumbling a curse, and hunched over the soup cans, pretending to arrange labels.
The pressure grew. It was a demanding, tangible presence. A deep, almost sub-aural hum seemed to emanate from his own groin, a sensation of liquid fullness, of expansion. His balls felt tight, heavy, like overfilled sacks. He could swear he heard a faint, wet gurgle, a biological plumbing system working under immense strain. It was maddening.
He had to get to the bathroom. Now.
Walking was an obscene parody of movement. He waddled, hunched, his face burning. He passed Sheila from Cosmetics, who offered a chipper “Morning, Leo!” He could only grit his teeth and nod, certain his condition was grotesquely visible.
The employee bathroom was a single, dingy closet with a flickering light. He slammed the lock and slumped against the door, panting.
In the mirror, his face was flushed, his eyes wide with a frantic hunger. His pupils were huge. He looked feral. He unbuckled his belt with shaking, clumsy hands, the button popping off and pinging against the tile.
Free from constraint, his erection sprang forth, thick and angry and impossibly full. The hum was inside him now, a vibrational feedback loop of pure need. Veins throbbed along its length. Precum beaded copiously at the tip, dripping onto the floor. His testicles did feel fuller, heavier, a tense, aching weight.
The urge to touch himself, to finish the frantic circuit his body was screaming for, was a physical force. He gripped the sink edge instead, his knuckles bleaching white. The porcelain groaned in protest. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to think of inventory, of Gary’s stupid face, of anything but the smell of Maya’s skin and the feel of her eyes on him.
“Not here,” he growled to his reflection. “Not like this.”
It took ten minutes of brutal, shuddering control before the pressure subsided to a manageable, throbbing ache. He tucked himself away, the act now awkward and constricting. The ruined pants were untenable. He spent the rest of his shift lurking in the stockroom, avoiding everyone, the ghost of Maya’s curiosity a constant, tantalizing itch under his skin.
The moment his shift ended, he was a moving mountain of need. He barely remembered the bus ride home, a blur of stares he both craved and despised. His apartment door closed behind him with finality.
He didn’t even turn on the light. The coin was on the desk, a dark pupil in the twilight room. He snatched it up. Its familiar, waiting warmth seeped into his palm.
Last night’s wish for “strength” had been abstract. Today’s need was a crystalline, single-pointed obsession. It wasn’t about being stronger. It was about being undeniable. To make that look in Maya’s eyes—that flicker of curiosity—become permanent, universal, and absolute. To become a gravitational pull.
He let the want consume him. He didn’t phrase it as a request. He breathed it into the humming metal as a core truth.
“I wish to be irresistible.”
The coin’s red light didn’t pulse this time. It detonated.
The force of it lifted him off his feet. He crashed onto his back on the floor, the air punching from his lungs. The transformation wasn’t a wave; it was a series of targeted, violent explosions.
His legs jerked, long bones crackling and elongating, feet splaying and pushing against his boots until the leather split. A hot, tearing agony shot through his pelvis as his hips widened, ligaments screaming. Then, a white-hot focal point of sensation blazed between his legs.
His cock, already substantial, began to lengthen. It wasn’t a growth; it was an unfurling, a relentless extrusion of flesh and sinew. His cheap cotton briefs offered no resistance. With a sound like ripping canvas, the fabric shredded, falling away in damp rags. He watched, hypnotized and horrified, as it thickened, vein-corded and brutally impressive, rising against his stomach.
The rest of the changes accelerated in a cascading riot. His chest broadened further, deltoids swelling into boulder-like mounds. A fresh, dense pelt of hair surged across his pecs, down his navel, coating his thighs in coarse fur. His jaw ached as it squared again, his brow ridge pushing forward, giving his face a more pronounced, bestial cast. His senses lit up like a city at night—he could smell the mold in the walls, the yeast in a forgotten beer bottle, the metallic tang of his own sweat.
It was too much. The sensory overload, the raw nerve-ending pleasure of the expansion, the sheer physical shock of becoming… this.
His body, operating on a primal logic all its own, reached its limit.
A convulsion wracked him. His back arched off the filthy floor. With a choked, guttural shout, he came. It wasn’t a release; it was a seismic event. Ropes of thick, hot semen painted his heaving stomach, his new fur, the floorboards beneath him. The force of it left him shuddering, breath sawing in and out of his expanded lungs.
Slowly, the crimson light in the room faded. The coin, discarded beside him, cooled.
The tremors subsided. The only sounds were his ragged breathing and the slow drip from his body onto the floor. A profound, satiated lassitude settled into his bones. He lay there for a long time, a monstrous Gulliver pinned to his Lilliputian floor.
Eventually, he pushed himself up onto his elbows. He looked down at the mess glistening on the terrain of his torso. He looked at his hands—they were practically paws, broad and hairy. He stretched a leg out; it seemed to go on forever, taking up half the room.
A sound bubbled up from deep within him. It started as a disbelieving huff, then grew into a low chuckle, and finally erupted into full, rolling laughter. It wasn’t a light sound. It was deep, resonant, and utterly unhinged. It echoed off the empty beer bottles and shook the dust from the windowsill.
He was a catastrophe. A masterpiece. He was undeniable.
He crawled to the full-length mirror nailed to the back of his door. In the dark room, illuminated only by the streetlamp glow, he saw a myth. A hulking, hairy, hyper-physical god of testosterone and want. The reflection of Leo Vance was gone, erased under layers of brutal biology.
He ran a hand over his chest, slick with his own release. The smell of sex and power filled the room.
Tomorrow. The word was a promise, a prayer.
He had no idea what he would wish for next. But as he gazed upon the sheer, awful magnitude of his form, he knew the coin would have an answer. The hunger was already stirring again, fresh and insatiable, born from the ashes of the old.
He laughed again, the sound rolling through the dark apartment. Tomorrow couldn’t come soon enough.
