Chapter 3: Rising Action
The music on the TV didn’t just change; it mutated. The heavy techno beat fractured into something sharper, more aggressive, a percussive hammering that matched the visuals perfectly. The softcore oil glistening was gone, replaced by a different kind of slickness. The camera now dove between straining bodies, capturing the furious, liquid rhythm of sex. Thrusts weren’t suggestions anymore; they were declarations. The sound design picked up wet, rhythmic slaps, grunts, and sighs that cut through the synth. It was no longer about looking. It was about doing.
Jemma let out a slow breath, a soft huh that was swallowed by the noise. The heat in the room felt different now. It wasn't just the failing air conditioner. It was under her skin, a low thrum that matched the bassline. She shifted again, tugging at the waistband of her boxer shorts.
"God, it's actually boiling in here," she said, more to herself than to him.
In one fluid, decisive motion, she hooked her thumbs into the elastic and pushed the shorts down her legs, kicking them off onto the floor. The cool, stale air of the room hit her bare skin. She wasn't wearing anything underneath. The revelation was casual, almost incidental, but it hung in the space between them, more shocking than anything on the screen.
Alan’s head turned. He couldn’t stop it. He saw the pale, soft skin of her thighs, the dark triangle of curls between them, the honest, full shape of her exposed in the flickering blue light. He looked like he’d been punched in the chest, all the air leaving him in a quiet gasp.
Jemma didn’t look at him. Her eyes were locked on the television, where a woman was bent over, hands braced against a wall, taking a deep, pounding rhythm. Jemma’s own hand drifted down her stomach, past the hem of her tank top. Her fingers dipped into her own warmth, already startlingly wet. She let out a shaky sigh, her head falling back against the couch cushion. There was no performance in it, no teasing. It was a pure, uncomplicated reaction.
This was the permission Alan didn’t know he needed.
His hands, which had been clenched on his thighs, finally moved. Fumbling with his belt, his button, his zipper. The denim was tight, constricting the obvious bulge. He freed himself with a rushed, awkward urgency, his erection springing out, thick and flushed in the dim light. He wrapped his fingers around himself, giving a slow, tentative stroke. His other hand gripped the worn fabric of the couch cushion, knuckles white.
The two of them sat there, a foot apart, a universe collapsing between them. The porn blared its relentless, mechanical ecstasy. Jemma’s breathing grew quicker, her fingers moving in a circular, searching pattern, her hips lifting slightly off the cushion to meet her own touch. A soft, guttural sound escaped her lips, utterly unlike her usual sarcastic tone.
Alan watched her from the corner of his eye. Seeing her like that—real, unpracticed, her face flush with feeling—was more intoxicating than any polished fantasy on the screen. His own strokes became more confident, his hand moving in a tighter, faster rhythm. The slick sound of his fist working over his skin joined the symphony from the speakers.
Jemma turned her head. Her green eyes, glassy with arousal, trailed down his body to where his hand moved. She watched for a long moment, her own motion slowing.
"Looks... efficient," she breathed, her voice husky.
Alan froze, caught. A deep blush spread across his chest. But he didn't cover himself. He didn't stop. He held her gaze, his breath coming in short pants, and gave himself another deliberate stroke, his thumb spreading a bead of moisture from his tip. It was an answer.
