Cassian is a knight that loses his title after being defeated in a public duel. The king decrees that Cassian become a bedmate, and join the concubine if the Baron he lost to.

Chapter 1: Introduction

The dirt tasted of blood and crushed herbs as Cassian pushed himself onto one knee, the roar of the crowd thinning to a jeering murmur around him. Baron Franz stood above him, the tip of his sword resting lightly against Cassian's collarbone, a cold smile curving his thin lips. "Rise, little knight," he said, loud enough for all to hear, "and remember the face of the man who owns you now." Cassian's jaw tightened, a muscle jumping beneath the stubble on his cheek. The crowd's laughter washed over him like cold water, and he felt the weight of a thousand eyes pressing down on his bowed shoulders. He made to rise, but the Baron's blade pressed harder against his collarbone, a silent command to stay.

"Not yet," Franz said, his voice a velvet whisper that somehow carried to every corner of the courtyard. "I haven't finished with you."

The Baron circled him slowly, the gravel crunching beneath his polished boots. He stopped behind Cassian and placed a hand on the knight's shoulder, fingers digging into the torn fabric of his tunic. "You wore that crest with such pride," Franz murmured, tracing the sigil stitched over Cassian's heart. "The king's wolf. How fitting that you now kneel like a beaten hound."

Cassian's hands curled into fists, his broken sword lying useless in the dirt beside him. He had trained his whole life for this, bled for this kingdom, and now he was nothing more than a spectacle for the nobleman's amusement.

Cassian's knuckles went white as the Baron's words hung in the air. The crowd waited, breath held, for the knight to snap back, to spit defiance, to do anything but kneel.

Franz's boot came without warning. The toe drove into Cassian's stomach, folding him over with a guttural grunt. The air left his lungs in a rush, and he hit the dirt hard, the impact jarring through his ribs. Before he could draw breath, the Baron was on him, his polished boot swinging again, catching Cassian in the side. Then the ribs. Then the shoulder. Each kick drove him deeper into the earth, grinding the broken sword into the mud beneath him.

"You wanted to be a knight," Franz said, his voice carrying over the sickening thuds of leather against flesh. "So learn what knights are worth when they lose."

The crowd gasped as Cassian coughed blood onto the stones. A crimson spray painted his lips and chin, flecking the dirt between his teeth. He tried to curl away, to shield himself, but the Baron's kicks found every opening, punishing him for the audacity of defense.

"I said," Franz snarled, planting his heel square in the middle of Cassian's back and pressing down with his full weight, "you kneel."

Cassian's spine arched, a strangled sound tearing from his throat. The Baron bent low, grabbing a fistful of dark hair and yanking Cassian's head back. The cold, flat side of the blade pressed against his throat, right over the thrumming pulse.

"Look at them," Franz murmured, tilting Cassian's head toward the crowd. "Your brothers. Your king. All watching me break you like a horse."

The pressure of the blade eased, just a fraction, just enough to let Cassian breathe. Franz's smile was a thin, cruel line as he addressed the king, who had risen from his throne at the edge of the courtyard, gray beard trembling with barely contained fury.

"Your Majesty," the Baron called out, not letting go of Cassian's hair. "This man challenged me. This man lost. By your own law, he is mine."

"Release him at once, Franz," the King commanded, his voice cracking with age and wrath. "He is a knight of the realm, and I will not have him butchered in my courtyard like a common criminal."

The Baron laughed, a sound like glass breaking. "Butchered? I have no intention of killing him, Your Grace." He bent lower, letting his lips brush Cassian's ear, loud enough for everyone to hear. "I intend to take him to my manor. To teach him what his body is worth. And if he's too stubborn to learn..." The flat of the blade pressed harder, a promise. "...then I'll bleed him dry in the bed he refuses to warm."

The crowd went silent. Cassian could feel every eye on him, could hear the beating of his own heart in his ears. The King's hands gripped the arms of his throne, knuckles pale.

"You cannot mean this," the King said, his voice a whisper that carried. "This is my finest knight. You cannot take him as a concubine."

"I can," Franz replied, his voice hardening into iron. "And I will. Unless you wish to see his blood pool at your feet, Your Grace. The choice is yours."

The King's face twisted, caught between pride and practicality. He was old. His knights were few. Cassian had been his best, his most loyal, and now he knelt broken in the dirt. The King looked at him, and something passed between them. Shame, perhaps. Or grief.

"One month," the King said finally, the words grinding out of him like stones from a quarry. "I will grant you one month with him, Franz. No more. If after that month he is still... unbroken..." The King's jaw worked. "If he still has his pride, then he returns to me, and you will release him with no claim upon his body or his name."

The Baron's eyes glittered with cold satisfaction. "And if he breaks, Your Grace?"

"Then he is your bedmate for life. The law will recognize your claim." The King's voice was hollow, as if the words were being pulled from his throat with hooks.

Franz then crossed his arms.

Franz uncrossed his arms, a flicker of amusement passing through his cold eyes. "Very well, Your Grace. One month. But before I take my new possession home, I believe a demonstration is in order. A lesson for any other proud fools who might think to challenge me."

He snapped his fingers. A wiry servant emerged from the shadows near the colonnade, his face a blank mask of obedience. He carried nothing but a coil of rope and a look of practiced deference.

"Strip him," Franz said, gesturing lazily at Cassian. "I want the court to see exactly what they've been admiring all these years."

The servant moved swiftly, without hesitation. Cassian tried to flinch away, tried to raise his battered hands, but he was still choking on his own blood, ribs screaming with every breath. The servant grasped the torn collar of his tunic and ripped it down the middle. Fabric tore. Buttons scattered across the courtyard stones. The servant pulled the ruined tunic from Cassian's shoulders, then worked at his belt and breeches with brutal efficiency.

Cold air hit Cassian's skin. He was naked in front of the entire court, his chest heaving, the purple and red blooms of fresh bruises already spreading across his ribs. The servant seized him by the ankles and flipped him onto his back like a landed fish. Then the servant grabbed Cassian's legs, folded them up against his chest, and lifted his hips off the ground.

Cassian's asshole was exposed to the crowd. The King's guard shifted uncomfortably. Women in the gallery raised their hands to their mouths. Some of the younger knights looked away, unable to watch their former brother reduced to this.

"Behold the mighty knight," Franz announced, gesturing at the display. "The king's wolf, now showing his true face to the realm. A tight hole and a pair of balls, just like any man, and just as breakable."

Cassian's face burned crimson. He struggled against the servant's grip, but his arms were too weak, his ribs too broken. He could only lie there, legs folded, his most intimate self offered up to hundreds of staring eyes.

Franz turned to the King, his voice carrying across the silent courtyard. "Do you want to know how I break weak men, Your Grace? I've broken dozens. Knights, lords, even a prince or two. And every single time, the first step is the same." He walked toward Cassian, boots crunching on gravel. "I take their manhood. Not their honor, not their titles. Their manhood. Strip a man of that, and the rest crumbles like rotted wood."

He stopped beside Cassian and reached down. His fingers closed around Cassian's flaccid penis, gripping it firmly, possessively. Cassian gasped, his whole body seizing with shock and horror.

"Please," the word tore out of him before he could stop it, ragged and broken. "Please, my lord. I beg you. I'll do anything. I'll serve you however you wish. Just don't... don't take this from me."

Franz tilted his head, studying Cassian's desperate face. "Please? The great knight Cassian, begging? How delightful." He squeezed, making Cassian whimper. "But no, my dear. You see, begging is precisely what I want from you. And begging is what you'll do for the rest of your life, once I'm finished."

He murmured a word. It wasn't a language Cassian recognized, something old and sharp that cut through the air like a blade. Green light flickered around Franz's fingers. Cassian felt it first as a cold, creeping sensation in his groin, then as a sharp, tearing ache that made him scream.

His penis contracted, shrank, visibly drawing in on itself. Several centimeters disappeared in heartbeats, the flesh seeming to retreat into his body. Cassian stared down at himself in horror, watching his manhood dwindle to a smaller, sadder thing.

Fire raced through his chest. His nipples began to tingle, then burn. A strange pressure built behind them, and thin white droplets began to bead at the tips, then thicker streams, milky and warm. Cassian watched, a choked sob in his throat, as milk dripped from his chest onto his stomach.

And his asshole. It convulsed violently, clenching and unclenching on its own, a deep and rhythmic pulsing he couldn't control. He felt it gape, felt a wetness pool there that he hadn't produced. The sensation was alien and mortifying, his body betraying him in ways he had never imagined possible.

Franz smiled, cold and satisfied. He pressed his thumb against Cassian's entrance, and Cassian moaned, the convulsing muscle admitting one finger with no resistance. Franz pushed in deeper, crooking his knuckle, and Cassian cried out.

"Look well, my lords and ladies," Franz announced, fingering Cassian slow and deliberate, his voice light and conversational. "The next time you see our dear knight, his ass will be as gaping as a whore's pussy. I will stretch him on cocks and fists and whatever else pleases me. And when I've loosened him properly, I will fuck him right here, in this courtyard, in front of every one of you, as I marry him."

The crowd stirred. The King looked stricken, gray-faced, unable to look away.

"Yes," Franz said, pushing a second finger into Cassian, making him gasp and arch. "I'll make him my bride. My submissive wife. He'll wear dresses and kneel at my feet and spread his legs on command. And the realm will know exactly what happens to men who think they can challenge me."

He withdrew his fingers with a wet pop and drew them up to the knight’s mouth.
