Chapter 1: Introduction

The afternoon sun peeked through the trees, casting dappled shadows across the tranquil park. Birds chirped, and the sound of water splashing could be heard from the pond.

Ava sat on a wooden bench, enjoying the warmth of the sun on her skin. She held her dog, Charlie, in her lap, watching him play with another dog, Max. The two dogs romped around, chasing each other around the pond and sniffing the flowers beside the path.

Ava and Ben watched them, their gazes meeting frequently.

"So," Ben said after a few minutes of silence. "Your dog must be really important to you."

Ava nodded, smiling. "Yes, he is. His name is Charlie."

Ben chuckled. "My dog's name is Max. He's a really playful Labrador retriever."

They chatted for a while longer, discussing their dogs and their favorite spots in the park.

Ava couldn't help but admire Ben's rugged handsomeness, feeling a warm flush spreading across her cheeks.

As they talked, Ava noticed that Ben would occasionally brush his hand against hers, sending a shiver down her spine. She felt a sudden rush of desire, and her heart began to race.

They soon parted ways, promising to meet again in the park with their dogs. As Ava walked back home, her mind was consumed by thoughts of Ben.

She couldn't stop thinking about the way his hand felt against hers, and the warmth that radiated from him.

She couldn't believe that she had never noticed how attractive he was before. His rugged features and the way he smiled at her made her heart race.
