Chapter 1: Opening Image
The sun was shining bright, nearly blinding her as she flipped her sunglasses back down from the top of her head. Nikyee loved this city, even more so today as she weaved in and out of the crowded sidewalks of downtown San Francisco, heading to her routine lunch spot.
Her phone vibrated in her back pocket, and she paused outside of an independent bookstore, its window design displaying a range of books.
She fished it out and saw a text message from a name she hadn't seen in ages: Patrick. Her heart skipped a beat, then accelerated. She hadn't heard from him since that wild night in Sydney, when their flirtatious banter turned into something more—much more.
"Hey, Nikyee! Just landed in SF. Fancy meeting for a drink?"
Her thoughts immediately drifted to that night, Patrick's athletic body against hers, the raw energy of their connection. She smiled, feeling restless and horny—a dangerous combination.
Her fingers danced across the screen as she typed her reply:
"I'm surprised but excited. Sure, I can meet you for a drink. There's this cool place downtown called "The Red Shade." I know you'll love it. I'll be there in an hour."
Her stiletto heels echoed on the pavement as she continued her way to the restaurant. Her mind was anywhere but her lunch date; she could only think of Patrick arriving unannounced in her city. How did she end up here, with him so unexpectedly back in her life?
Was she ready to dive back into the world of her past, the one where the lines between friendship and passion blurred? The answer was a resounding yes.
As Nikyee stepped into her sleek, modern studio, she took a deep breath, taking in the strange peace it had held since his last visit. The remnants of their wild nights together still lingered—the faint scent of their bodies, the giddy whispers in the wake of their passion.
She glanced around her sanctuary, her home that was also her kingdom.
Her eyes landed on the oversized mirror in her bedroom. She pulled off her blazer, revealing a fitted silk blouse that clung to her shapely frame, accentuating her medium tits. A pair of skinny jeans completed her attire, giving her an air of casual sophistication.
Moving toward her vanity, Nikyee brushed her dark, curly locks over her shoulder, mentally hurrying herself to get ready. She wanted to look every inch the seductress her body promised.
Applying her signature rose-hued lipstick, she added a sultry touch to her full lips. A light swipe of blush, and her defined cheekbones popped, giving her that just-fucked glow. With a final glance at her reflection, Nikyee knew that she was ready for him.
As Nikyee walked into The Red Shade an hour later, she spotted him immediately. He sat in a dimly lit corner, a devilish grin spreading across his handsome face as he saw her.
And just like that, fireworks went off inside Nikyee's chest.
Patrick stood up as she reached their table and wrapped his strong arms around her waist, pulling her in for a deep, lingering kiss. Her heart was racing; it'd been so long since she'd felt this kind of anticipation that came from knowing a man like him wanted her.
Her fingers laced behind his neck as she teased his tongue with hers.
