The sound of metal and broken glass permeated through the walls of the small room. The stench of chemicals and burning flesh filled the air I blinked blearily, my head aching as I sat up. What happened to me? Where am I? I groaned as pain lanced through my temples, making me regret the ale I drank last night.I sat up quickly, my head swimming with the torrents of thoughts that were racing through my mind. I blinked hard, my eyes water ing as I tried to make out anything in the darkness. A chair? A table? Something squirming on the ground?

Blood. So much blood. It was everywhere.And I had so little control over it. My body wouldn't stop bleeding. I needed to stop the bleeding. I needed to see something. Anything "You will cooperate," a husky voice said from behind me. I stiffened, expecting to feel hands on my shoulders, but the figure stood back as if it were waiting for me to turn around."Or else."

I turned slowly, my head swimming with the torrents of thoughts that were racing through my mind."Cooperate?" I whispered, still trying to process what just happened and why my legs hurt. Why did everything hurt? Was this normal? Or was I dying?

"Or else what?" the figure asked.The figure stood back as if it were waiting for me to turn around. But I didn't turn. Why not? What did it want from me? A name? A date of birth?
