It was the last day of school. The bell had rung, the last exam finished, and all that was left was the end of year play. A tradition as old as time. Or at least as old as the school's founding in 1599. And just like every year, it ended in tragedy. No, not tragedy. Tragedy implies some sort of justice.This was more like an unending nightmare.
As usual, the boys were the culprits. Two of them, anyway. The third, Lucas Lucky" Luciano, was nowhere to be seen. He'd skipped the last two rehearsals and was unlikely to turn up for the performance, which meant that there were only two boys in the cast.And one of those was Cedric, who played the lead role of Gerry in the play.
Cedric was a sweet boy. Tall and gangly, with shaggy hair and a roguish glint in his eye, he was the epitome of the dashing hero. His acting was superb, and he deserved every accolade that came his way.
