Brittany was sitting in her usual seat in the back row of the music theory classroom when she noticed that the professor had a new assignment a composition of her own. She had been working on Beethoven's 9th Symphony for the past week and was supposed to perform it for the class today.She had been practicing the scales and arpeggios for the past week as well. She was supposed to play the whole thing by memory.
Memorize it," the professor had said. "I'll give you a metronome so you don't have to keep looking at the music."
Her hand was shaking as she reached for the notebook and pencils on her desk.
