Tsuki stood in the shower, her eyes running through the shampoo on her scalp. She was careful not to get the wrong parts of her body wet, as she dried off with a towel. It was a ritual she had performed every day since moving into her new apartment. The building had been vacant for months, and the previous tenants had left all their belongings in the hall.It had been a godsend to have a place to shower and change after a long day.
The new tenants were a young couple who had recently graduated from college. Both worked full-time, and the husband played football in the city's league. Their baby was due any day now, and they were excited to be in their new home.The baby would be their first, and they were both excited and scared.
The doorbell rang, and she ran out of the bathroom, quickly Hello?" she yelled into the hallway. No answer. She ran to the front door, and yanked it open. A man stood on the porch, dressed in what looked to be a suit.He had a briefcase in his hand, and was staring blankly at the apartment building.
"I'm sorry, I must have the wrong address," the man said, his voice thick with an accent she couldn’t place. "I was told this was 7A, but it looks like 6A to me.Can you tell me where I am, missy?"
"You're in my apartment, and I hope you can figure out where the fuck I M from," she said, closing the door and turning to look out the peephole. "Oh, you can just see my head if you look through the sliver of an opening in the back door. That should help you find me.I'm the one that lives in the green room."
She turned back around and went back into the bathroom, quickly locking the door and turning the lock from the inside. She took a deep breath and counted to ten, letting her mind wander as she waited for the man to find her. When she opened the door, she was greeted by the couple from the college.
