As the summer came to an end, the thought of leaving you was unbearable. We promised to stay in touch, and we did. But it wasn't the same. Months went by without hearing from you, and the memories of

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

The first time I saw you, you were standing by the pool in your yellow bikini. I was sitting on the bleachers watching the water polo game when I felt someone brush up against me. I turned to look at you and smiled. It was you. My heart skipped a beat and I felt butterflies in my stomach.I don't know why, but you just made me feel special. Even though you were just a random person that I saw at the beach, you — you know who you are — "made me feel like I was the only girl in the world.\" I don't know why, but that simple statement just made me feel so good. "You are the only girl in the world," I said with a smile.

You smiled back and ran your hand through my hair. I closed my eyes and savoured the feeling before opening my eyes back up and taking in your face.I watched you as you walked away from the game. I don't know why, but I just felt the need to follow you. You looked back once as I caught up to you and smiled again. Then you kept walking without a word. What was I thinking? Why did I think you needed help? I was just being nice. Right? You kept walking and walking until you finally stopped. I didn't know what to do or say so I just kept watching you as you stood facing me. Finally, you broke our gaze and started walking again. This time in the opposite direction from where I was heading. "Wait," I said as you passed me. "Where are you going?I thought you were going to walk me home." You stopped and stared at me for a second before walking off again. Why did you do that? I wondered as I watched you walk away yet again. I guess I was just being nosy and wanted to see where you were going. So, I followed you. And as you turned the corner, I saw you coming towards me.Chapter one

You smiled back and ran your hand through my hair. I closed my eyes and savored the feeling before opening my eyes back up and taking in your face. You were just a regular girl, nothing special about you. Except, you know who you are. And that makes you special. "Do you need help getting home?" I asked you after the game ended. You shook your head and said you were fine as you grabbed your towel from the sidelines and walked off the field.

That is when it happened again. Your simple gesture just brightened up my day. You didn't even have to say anything. It was the smallest of gestures, but yet I could tell you meant something.

I found myself wanting to see more of you. I wanted to get to know you better. To learn what made you laugh or smile. What made you happy? But I never got the chance to ask because that night I went to sleep early and left you behind. "You should stay here tonight," you told me.

"Hey," I said as you got closer. "You forgot your towel."

You turned around and there you were, all grown up and hot as hell in a pair of black leggings and a tank top. Your hair was up and you had a little bit of a tan from all the sun you spent playing in the pool. "Thanks," you replied with a small smile. I noticed you weren't wearing your glasses. Or rather, you hadn't put them on since we first met. They were in your purse. "So where are you headed?" I asked. You shrugged.

"Um...my boyfriend's house." You replied with a nervous smile. I smiled and then said: "Well, I'm right down the road. If you want to come over, we can hang out for a while.
