Chapter 3: Chapter 3
"Hey, there, neighbor!" a cheerful voice called out as Robert walked down the sidewalk. He stopped dead in his tracks, and looked up at the skyrocketing skyscrapers. They were beautiful, but at the same time he wondered what would happen if a storm hit one of them. Would it collapse? What would happen to the people inside?Would they get rescued?
Robert had been thinking about those things ever since the accident. The man who had hit him had fled the scene. I should have followed him," Robert murmured to himself as he rubbed his bleary eyes. "I should have at least gotten his license plate.Maybe then I could have found out who he was and what he did for a living. Maybe then I could have..."
Robert stopped his r n'r. There was no point in going on. He had a million questions, but no way to ask them. What if the guy had been sick? What if he had just fallen asleep at the wheel? What if he had just been tired?"
Robert had seen enough episodes of Criminal Minds and other such shows to know that you didn't drive a car into a crowd of people and then just walk away. This was no accident. This was premeditated murder.
