Chapter 1: Introduction
The party was teeming with high-class snobs. Honestly, I don't know how I managed to get an invite to this sort of gathering. The music was bland, the wine was expensive, and the art conversations were more like excuses for people to show off their intelligence. Ah, who was I kidding? They were trying to get laid behind the priceless paintings.
I was halfway through my umpteenth glass of chardonnay when my gaze landed on her: the mystery woman in tight, ripped jeans.
Oh, she knew what she was doing, wearing those. You could even spot it—the monstrous bulge in her pants. The whispers had started earlier and my curiosity piqued, I decided to get up close and personal with this well-endowed creature.
As I approached her, I saw that she had an aura of self-assurance. Her eyes locked on mine and I felt a shiver run down my spine. "Gorgeous view from the ballroom" I said, deflecting my interest with a casual flirtation.
I glanced at the towering floor-to-ceiling windows—my oh-so-subtle way of acknowledging her impressive endowment.
She smiled, "Thank you—I aim to please."
My eyes widened with curiosity, "I don't mean to be so forward, but after the amount of chardonnay I've had tonight, I'm not sure how else to be! You're extremely sexy."
Alex leaned in and whispered, "Straightforwardness is sexy.
Can't say I entirely mind it myself."
The air between us crackled with nervous energy—I could tell she couldn't ignore the tension any more than I could.
"So, you're here alone?" Alex asked.
I could feel my heart beating faster, knowing that our conversation was about to take a turn.
"Well, I came with my boyfriend, but he's been schmoozing the rich people at that big marketing firm all evening," I replied, nervously playing with the hem of my dress. Damn, I shouldn't have said that. I really wanted to see what's underneath those pants, now she knows I'm not single.
She smiled and leaned in even closer, her eyes flickering with desire. "Sounds like he doesn't appreciate the fine, curvy woman he has," she said as she stepped in closer to Rachel.
Rachel's breath hitched as she felt Alex's hand rest on her lower back. "He appreciates me in other ways, but I get what you mean," she said, staring into Alex's eyes.
Alex's grip tightened on Rachel's back as she leaned in closer. "How about we appreciate each other tonight, since they decided to ignore us?"
The air between them was thick with desire and anticipation. Rachel didn't know what came over her, but she couldn't resist the temptation.
Suddenly, Alex let go.
