A team of three experts at a biological research facility analyse a plant sample that has been sent to the lab from the Amazon for identification. After some analysis the suspect that it might be a legendary plant only known from Inca legends that is said to interact in strange ways with human females. Dr. Samantha Stripes is the only female member of the research team and is asked by her colleagues is she would be willing to volunteer to be a test subject to explore the true nature of the plant. Dr. Stripes is an intelligent and eager academic but also personally shy, introverted and a bit of a prude. She sees the plant as a career opportunity and is intrigued by its rumored powers, but is also terrified by it. She is an attractive, well proportioned woman in her lates 20’s, with blocky brown hair and freckles.

Chapter 4: Rising Action

The morning sun streamed through the dense canopy of leaves above, casting dappled shadows on the humid floor of the Tropical Plant Room. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and the faint, underlying smell of decomposition, a symphony of life and decay that filled the lungs with every breath. Dr. Samantha Stripes stood before the sealed glass case, her fingers tracing the outline of the mysterious plant within.

She could feel the residual warmth from their previous encounter, the memory of the tendrils wrapping around her arms like a lover's embrace still fresh in her mind.

A soft hum filled the room, the plant's gentle vibrations still resonating within her.

Dr. Finch approached the plant, his steps careful and deliberate. He extended a gloved hand, tentatively touching the stem before moving his hand to the bud. He turned to Samantha, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. "Samantha, what do you make of this growth spurt? It's unprecedented, even for a plant with unique properties."

Prof Finch continues:”We have already established that the plant only reacts to women, only to direct skin contact, that it exhibits growth spurts proportional to touch intensity, and that it has started to grow this red bud like thing from the center of the plant. Let’s brainstorm how else the plant might be stimulated by touch"

Samantha: "What if we try a different type of skin contact? Maybe something more... personal?"

Dr Finch raises an eyebrow: "What do you mean, Samantha?"

Samantha's cheeks flush: "Well, what if I kiss the plant? Or... or put my lips on it?"

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez exchange a look, the latter biting back a grin.

Dr. Finch: "That's... an interesting idea. Let's see how it responds to something more... intimate."

Samantha steps closer to the plant, her heart pounding in her chest.

I'll do it," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. She takes a deep breath, her cheeks flushed with a mix of apprehension and excitement. She leans in, her eyes wide as she extends her lips towards the shimmering leaves. The plant seems to quiver in anticipation, the tendrils writhing slightly as if sensing her impending contact.

Dr. Finch watches intently, his eyes narrowing as he tries to anticipate the plant's response. "Observe closely, Dr. Stripes".

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez lean in closer, their eyes widening with curiosity and slight unease. The air in the room grows thick with anticipation.

Samantha's lips grazed the surface of the shimmering leaf, and the plant reacted instantaneously. The tendrils that had been writhing in anticipation now sprang to life, latching onto her face. The warmth that she had experienced before now coursed through her entire body, pulsating like a living entity. The vibrations that she had felt earlier now resonated throughout her being, making her feel as if she were part of the plant itself.

The tendrils wrapped around her cheeks and forehead, their warmth seeping into her skin. Samantha gasped, her eyes widening behind her closed lids. She could feel the plant's energy, like a slow, steady pulse that matched her own heartbeat.

"Samantha, are you okay?" Dr. Finch's voice cut through her haze, a hint of concern lacing his words. She nodded, her breath coming in shallow gasps. The tendrils tightened their grip slightly, the plant's response to her touch more pronounced than ever. It's just...

more intense," Samantha managed to whisper, her voice barely audible. She could feel the plant's energy flowing through her, as if it were connected to her very essence. A shiver ran down her spine, and she couldn't help but let out a soft moan.

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez exchanged a look, their eyes widening with a mix of awe and disbelief. Hector adjusted his glasses, his pen flying across the page as he tried to document what was happening. "This is... extraordinary," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

Then, he paused, his eyes widening as he noticed the bud. "What the devil... it's grown again."

Samantha, still clutching her sides, looked up at the plant, her eyes widening in disbelief. "It can't be... it's even bigger."

The bud now protruded 7 centimeters from the center of the plant, its diameter measuring a staggering 7 centimeters. It pulsated with a rhythm that seemed to mirror Samantha's own heartbeat, the red color more intense than ever.

Dr. Finch stepped closer, his eyes scanning the plant with a mixture of awe and unease. "It's grown exponentially. It seems to be responding to the intensity of your touch, Samantha." He turned to her, his brow furrowed in thought. "That's... quite remarkable.

But for now, let's document these observations and proceed with caution." Dr. Finch turned to Samantha, his expression softening. "Are you alright, Samantha? You look a bit flushed."

Samantha's cheeks, already reddened from the plant's warmth, deepened to a brilliant crimson. She pulled away from the plant, her breath coming in rapid gasps. "Yes, I... I think so," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. She glanced down at the intense red bud pulsating before her, her eyes wide with a mix of awe and apprehension.

Dr. Finch noticed her discomfort and stepped closer, his hand reaching out to rest gently on her shoulder. "Take a moment to catch your breath. We can continue this later."

Samantha nodded, stepping back from the plant, her heart pounding in her chest.

The residual warmth of the tendrils was still present on her skin, making her feel both exhilarated and slightly dazed. She took a deep breath, trying to slow her racing heart.

"Thank you, Dr. Finch," she managed to say, her voice still breathless. She looked up at the plant, her eyes wide with wonder and a touch of unease. "And... and thank you to the plant," she whispered, almost as if the creature could hear her.

She took a step back, her eyes still wide with wonder and apprehension, as she watched the bud pulsate rhythmically.

Dr. Finch's eyes were fixed on the plant, his brow furrowed in thought. "It seems to grow each time it makes a different type of contact with Dr. Stripes' body," he murmured, mostly to himself. He turned to Samantha and Hector, his expression serious. "We need to be cautious. This is unprecedented territory."

Dr. Alvarez adjusted his glasses, his eyes scanning the plant warily. "It's fascinating, but also a bit concerning. We need to understand what's happening before we proceed further." He looked at Samantha, his expression softening. "Are you sure you're okay, Samantha?

It seems to grow each time it makes a different type of contact with your body," Dr. Finch repeated, his eyes fixed on the pulsating bud. He looked at Samantha and Hector, his expression grave. "Can we think of any safer type of body contact we haven't yet tried?"

“So far we have tried contact with the fingers, hand, wrists, forearm, and mouth."

Dr. Alvarez mused, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "Perhaps we should consider other parts of the body. But we should be mindful of the risks involved."

Prof. Finch turned to Dr Stripes: “Dr. Stripes, what do you think?"

Dr. Finch asked, his gaze intent on her.

Samantha hesitated, her cheeks still flushed with the aftereffects of the plant's touch. The thought of further experimentation both excited and scared her. She had never experienced anything like this before, and the intensity of the plant's response was unnerving. But she couldn't deny the thrill of discovery that coursed through her veins. I'm not sure," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's so unpredictable. We don't know what could happen."

Dr. Alvarez nodded in agreement, "Exactly.

She knew she was walking a fine line between curiosity and fear, but the desire to understand this phenomenon was overwhelming. She took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "Alright, I'll try my

foot this time," she said, her voice steadier than she felt.

Samantha slid off her shoes, revealing her bare feet. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. She approached the plant, her footsteps soft against the damp earth of the Tropical Plant Room. She extended her foot,

her toes brushing against the base of the plant.

The tendrils seemed to quiver, as if sensing her skin, their movement slow and deliberate. Samantha held her breath, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited for the plant's response.

Dr. Finch watched intently, his pen poised above his notepad. "Dr. Stripes, observe any changes in the plant's behavior or appearance."

Samantha nodded, her eyes fixed on the plant. She could feel a slight warmth spreading from her toes, and she noticed the tendrils wrapping around her ankle, their movements gentle yet firm.

The plant seemed to be studying her, the leaves rustling slightly as if in response to her touch. Samantha took a deep breath, her heart pounding with anticipation.

Suddenly, the plant seemed to shiver, the tendrils tightening around her ankle before releasing it slowly. The bud at its center pulsated, growing rapidly before their eyes. It expanded to a remarkable 8 centimeters in diameter and now protruded a full 12 centimeters from the plant's core. The red hue was so intense it seemed to emit its own light, casting eerie shadows onto the surrounding foliage.

Samantha pulled her foot back, her eyes wide with disbelief. It grew even bigger when I touched it with my foot." Her voice was barely above a whisper, her eyes still locked on the pulsating bud.

Dr. Finch nodded, his expression serious. "We've established that the plant responds to different types of skin contact. The more intimate the touch, the more pronounced the response. We need to be cautious, Samantha. This is uncharted territory."

Dr. Alvarez, who had been quietly taking notes, looked up and adjusted his glasses. "We should also consider the part of the body that's making contact.

It might be worth trying both feet at the same time, Dr. Stripes," Dr. Alvarez suggested, his eyes glinting with a mix of curiosity and concern.

Samantha hesitated, her heart pounding in her chest as she looked down at the plant, its now massive bud pulsating. The thought of both feet making contact sent a shiver down her spine, but she knew that the opportunity to understand this phenomenon was too important to pass up. "Alright," she said, her voice steady despite her racing heart. "Let's try both feet."

She slid her other shoe off, her toes curling slightly as they touched the damp earth.

She looked down at the plant, realizing that she would need to sit to make contact with both feet at once.

Samantha lowered herself to the ground, her eyes never leaving the plant as she stretched out her legs, the soles of her feet pressing against the base of the vibrant creature.

The immediacy of the contact was unexpected. The tendrils seemed to spring to life, wrapping around her ankles and calves with a gentleness that belied their intensity. A warmth spread from her feet, radiating up her legs and settling in her core. It was as if the plant was drawing her essence into itself, or perhaps it was sharing its own energy with her.

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez watched in awe as the plant's response was more pronounced than ever.

The tendrils tightened around Samantha's legs, their grip firm yet gentle, as if the plant was embracing her, inviting her deeper into its world. Samantha gasped, her eyes widening as she felt the intensity of the contact. The warmth spread rapidly, engulfing her in a pulsating rhythm that mirrored her own heartbeat.

Dr. Finch's eyes widened behind his glasses, his pen flying across the notepad as he recorded the plant's sudden reaction. "Samantha, can you describe what you're feeling?" he asked, his voice filled with both excitement and concern.

Samantha took a deep breath, trying to process the overwhelming sensation. "It's... powerful. It's like the plant is... alive," she managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper.

But as she spoke, she noticed something else. The tendrils were not just around her ankles and calves anymore. They were creeping up her trouser legs, inching their way towards her knees, their touch gentle yet persistent.

Samantha's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of fear and fascination flickering across her face. She looked up at Dr. Finch, her voice catching in her throat. "The roots... they're moving up my legs." A faint shiver ran through her, the sensation both strange and exhilarating.

Dr. Finch's eyes followed the tendrils' path, his expression one of concern and awe. "Samantha, be cautious. We don't know what this could do."

Dr. Alvarez leaned in, his eyes wide behind his glasses. "This is unprecedented. The plant seems to be...

intertwining with you."

Samantha swallowed hard, her heart pounding in her chest as she watched the tendrils continue their slow, deliberate journey up her legs. The warmth they emitted was intense, and she could feel her body responding to it in ways she had never experienced before. Her breath hitched, and she felt a strange, almost electric tingling sensations that seemed to radiate from her core. Dr. Finch's voice was laced with concern, and she could see the worry in his eyes.

She nodded, but her voice was barely above a whisper.

"I'm... I'm okay."

The tendrils continued their journey up her legs, the warmth intensifying as they went. Samantha could feel her heart racing, her breath coming in shallow gasps. The sensation was overwhelming, unlike anything she had ever experienced. She felt a strange connection to the plant, as if they were communicating on a level that transcended words.

Dr. Finch watched, his pen poised above his notepad, his expression a mix of concern and fascination. "Samantha, ëverything alright?"

She nodded again, but she could see the worry in his eyes.

She knew he was concerned for her safety, but she also knew that she had to keep going. She had to understand this phenomenon, no matter what the cost.

"Keep going," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

The tendrils inched higher, reaching her thighs now. Samantha could feel a heat building between her legs, a heat that was not entirely unwelcome. She shifted slightly, feeling a strange sensation building within her. It was as if the plant was not just affecting her physically but also emotionally and sexually.

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez looked at each other, their expressions mirroring the same mix of concern and fascination.

"Dr. Finch, I think we need to stop this," Dr. Alvarez said, his voice barely above a whisper. "This is going too far."

Dr. Finch took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving Samantha. He knew that they were treading into uncharted territory, but he also knew that they were on the verge of a groundbreaking discovery. He turned to Samantha, his eyes softening. "Samantha, are you sure you want to continue? We can stop at any time."

Samantha looked up at him, her breath still coming in shallow gasps.

"Dr. Finch, with all due respect, I think we should reassess our approach. This is getting out of hand."

Dr. Finch sighed, running a hand through his hair. He knew Hector was right, but the scientist in him was torn between caution and curiosity. He looked back at Samantha, who was still seated on the ground, her legs entwined with the plant's tendrils. Her breath was coming in ragged gasps, and her eyes were wide with a mix of fear, awe, and something else—something darker and more primal.

Dr. Finch hesitated, his eyes flicking between Samantha and the plant. He knew that they were treading on dangerous ground, but the allure of discovery was powerful. He turned to Dr. Alvarez, who was watching the scene unfold with a mix of concern and fascination.

"Hector, what do you think?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Dr. Alvarez licked his lips, his eyes never leaving the plant. "It's... it's unlike anything I've ever seen," he admitted. "But we need to be careful.

We can't just let this escalate without understanding the ramifications." Dr. Alvarez's gaze flicked from the plant to Samantha and back again, his expression a mix of scientific curiosity and genuine concern.

Samantha, still seated on the floor, seemed to be in a trance. The tendrils continued their slow, deliberate journey up her thighs, the warmth they emitted permeating her entire being. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, her breath coming in shallow gasps. The sensation was overwhelming, exhilarating, and yet, somehow, terrifying. She needed to get away from the plant.

The tendrils were everywhere, their warmth seeping into her, their touch too intimate. But somehow, she couldn't move. She was frozen, her heart pounding in her chest, her breath coming in ragged gasps. “Help me get these tendrils of my feet, this is getting to much

"

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez looked at each other, their faces pale with shock and arousal.

Dr. Alvarez was the first to break the silence, his voice shaking slightly with arousal and horror. "Samantha, we need to get you out of this. This plant... it's doing something to you."

Dr. Finch nodded, his eyes wide with a mix of concern and lust. He took a step closer to Samantha, his voice low and urgent. "Samantha, listen to me. You need to try and pull away. We'll help you."

Dr. Alvarez rushed to Samantha's side, his hands quickly going to her ankle, carefully prying the tendrils away from her skin. Dr. Finch joined him, their movements deliberate and swift, as if fighting against time. Samantha tensed, her body resisting their attempts, the plant's hold on her strong and unyielding.

"Samantha, you need to help us," Dr. Finch said, his voice firm yet gentle. "Try to relax your leg, let us pull the tendrils off."

Dr. Alvarez's voice was steady, but Samantha could hear the urgency beneath his words. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, and tried to relax her muscles. It was a struggle, her body seemed to be resisting, pulling her closer to the plant.

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez worked in unison, their hands gentle yet firm as they peeled the tendrils away from her skin. The warmth that had been spreading through her body began to retreat, but the sensation of the tendril's touch lingered, like a phantom limb.

"That's it, Samantha.

You're free now," Dr. Finch said, relief evident in his voice as the last of the tendrils released its hold. He quickly handed her a towel from a nearby table, his expression serious. "Here, wipe your feet. They're covered in the plant's viscous slime."

Samantha took the towel and began to rub her feet vigorously, her breath still coming in rapid gasps. She could feel the slick residue of the plant's touch, a grimy reminder of the intense experience she had just undergone. As she wiped, she noticed that her feet were flushed, the skin more sensitive than usual.

"Do you feel any pain or discomfort?" Dr. Finch asked, his eyes scanning her feet for any signs of injury.

Samantha shook her head, her eyes fixed on the towel as she continued to scrub. “It seems clear that this plant reacts to physical intimacy, but that was getting a bit much." Dr. Finch added. "We need to take a break and re-evaluate our approach,” he said, his voice firm.

Samantha nodded, her heart still racing from the intense experience. She took a deep breath and gradually stood up, slowly rubbing her hands over her thighs, feeling the aftereffects of the plant’s touch lingering on her skin. “I think that’s a good idea.”

Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez exchanged a look, both seeming to agree that a temporary halt was necessary. “Let’s get some fresh air and clear our heads.

We’ll reconvene in an hour.” Dr. Finch led them out of the Tropical Plant Room, his mind racing with the morning’s events.

Samantha followed, her heart still pounding. She couldn’t stop thinking about the embarrassment of what the plant had made her do.

She was a respected botanist, not some... some horny teenager. She blushed, her face still flushed from the plant's touch. Her body still throbbed with unmet need. She couldn't believe what she had just done, or rather, what the plant had made her do.

Samantha took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart as she followed Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez out of the Tropical Plant Room. The cool air of the facility's hallway was a stark contrast to the humid warmth of the room they had just left, and she shivered slightly as they walked. She had never experienced anything like that before, and the intensity of the plant's response was unsettling. But she knew that the opportunity to understand this phenomenon was too important to pass up.

After taking a brief break to clear their heads and grab some coffee, the three scientists reconvened in the Tropical Plant Room. As they approached the glass case containing the mysterious plant, Samantha couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. She had experienced something profound with that plant, something that she couldn't quite explain.

She tried to push the thoughts from her mind as they approached the glass case, her eyes widening in surprise.

"What the devil... it's grown again," Dr. Finch muttered, his brow furrowing as he leaned in to examine the plant more closely. The tendrils seemed to have multiplied, their movements more fluid and deliberate than before.

Samantha stared, her heart pounding in her chest. She had known that the plant was responsive, but this was something else entirely. This was growth on a scale they had never seen before.

Dr. Alvarez adjusted his glasses, his eyes wide with disbelief. "The bud... it's grown again, and it's... changed shape. Look at the tip—it's almost conical now."

Finch leaned closer, his brow furrowing as he examined the plant. "You're right. The diameter of the tip is now 9 centimeters, and the shaft is 7 centimeters in diameter, with a length of 18 centimeters. And the shape..." He paused, his eyes scanning the plant, his voice laced with concern. "It's more phallic than ever."

Samantha's breath caught in her throat as she looked at the plant. The bud was now more pointed and elongated, the shaft thicker and longer, pulsating with a rhythm that seemed to mimic a heartbeat. The red hue was even more intense, casting eerie shadows onto the surrounding foliage.

Dr. Finch turned to Samantha, his voice grave. "Samantha, in your opinion, what is the intention of this plant? We've never seen anything like this before."

Samantha hesitated, her eyes still locked on the plant, her cheeks flushed from the residual warmth of its touch. "I... I'm not sure, Dr. Finch," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's as if it wants something from us. But what that is... I can't say."

She swallowed hard, her mind racing as she tried to process the profound experience she had just shared with the plant. "It's almost as if it's trying to communicate with us. Or perhaps it's trying to... connect with us in some way."

Dr. Alvarez nodded thoughtfully, adjusting his glasses as he studied the plant.

"It does seem to be reaching out, doesn't it? Dare I say... in an intimate way?" He turned to Samantha, his brows raised, a hint of a blush creeping up his own cheeks at the suggestive implication.

Samantha's eyes widened slightly at the insinuation, her own cheeks flushing a deeper shade of red. She shifted her gaze to the plant, her voice barely above a whisper. "I-I suppose it could be interpreted that way. It's certainly... responding to our touch in a more personal manner than we anticipated." She could feel her heart racing again at the memory of the plant's tendrils wrapping around her legs, and she quickly looked away, breaking the eye contact with her colleagues. She cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure. "And it seems to react to direct skin contact, but with females," she added, her voice barely audible. "I'm the only one who's had this kind of response from it. When Dr. Finch or Dr. Alvarez touch it, it doesn't seem to... change like this."

Alistair's eyes widened behind his glasses, his brows furrowing as he processed Samantha's words. "You're right," he murmured, his gaze flicking between the plant and Samantha. "I've never seen it react this way with anyone but you."

Dr. Alvarez's eyes lingered on the plant for a moment before turning back to Samantha, his expression eager. "If we want to study it further, you would have to interact with it again, Dr. Stripes."

Samantha's heart skipped a beat at the thought, her mind immediately flashing back to their previous encounter. She swallowed hard, her eyes flicking between Dr. Finch and Dr. Alvarez. She knew they were right—if they wanted to understand this plant, they needed to explore further. But the thought of repeating that intense experience made her heart race with a mix of fear and anticipation.

"I-I don't know, Dr. Alvarez," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "It reacted so... strongly last time, and I’m not willing to… uh...

put myself in that position again." Samantha's voice trailed off, her fingers fidgeting with the edge of her lab coat. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, dreading the thought of another encounter with the plant. “I suggest we find a proper test subject for this experiment, I’m done volunteering."

Samantha said, her voice filled with a mix of fear and frustration.

Dr. Finch nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. He turned to Dr. Alvarez, "Hector, we need to find a suitable volunteer. But we need to ensure they are fully aware of the risks involved."

Dr. Alvarez nodded in agreement, "Of course. We can’t just bring someone in without their informed consent. And we should probably start with skin contact that's less...

Samantha nodded, relief washing over her as she realized she wouldn’t have to put herself in harm's way again.

She had reached her limits with this plant, and she was more than happy to let someone else take over the experimentation.

Dr. Finch turned to Dr. Alvarez, his expression serious. “Dr Alvarez, I want you to draft up a consent form that covers all the known risks. We need to ensure our volunteer is fully aware of what they might be getting into.”

“Absolutely, Professor. I’ll make sure it’s comprehensive and clear,” Dr. Alvarez agreed, pulling out his notepad and jotting down a few notes. Who could we address as potential subjects?" Dr. Alvarez asked, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and concern.

Dr. Finch stroked his chin thoughtfully. "We should start with someone we trust, someone who knows the risks and can handle the unexpected. Perhaps we could ask for volunteers among the staff or graduate students."

Samantha nodded in agreement. "That seems reasonable. We should be cautious, though. This isn't a typical experiment, and we don't fully understand the plant's reactions yet."

Dr. Alvarez looked up from his notepad, his eyes reflecting the concern they all shared. “You are right Dr.” Finch turned to Samantha, his expression grave. “We do need to proceed with caution. Since you have already had such a strong reaction, it might not be wise for you to continue these interactions. Instead, I would like you to draw up a short list of female graduate students, interns, and assistants who might be willing to volunteer for further observations and interactions with the plant. Make sure to include only those who have shown exceptional academic prowess and a keen interest in botany."

Samantha nodded, a sense of relief washing over her. She knew that compiling such a list would take some time, and it would give her the opportunity to put some distance between herself and the plant. She had experienced more than she bargained for, and she welcomed the chance to step back and observe from a safer distance. "Of course, Professor Finch.

I'll draw up that list for you," Samantha said, relieved to have some time to process the morning's events. "Let's reconvene tomorrow and discuss the candidates."

"That sounds like a plan," Dr. Finch agreed, his expression serious. "We'll meet here, same time. In the meantime, I want you both to think about any additional experiments or observations we could make. We need to stay one step ahead of this plant and understand its intentions."

Dr. Alvarez nodded, his eyes still fixed on the pulsating bud. "I'll start drafting the consent form immediately. We need to be thorough and transparent about what we're asking of our volunteers."

Samantha took a deep breath, her heart still pounding in her chest from the morning's encounter. She knew she had a long night ahead of her, filled with research and reflection.
