Chapter 1: Introduction
Arun, a man of few words, was the kind of person who spoke less and listened more. His brown eyes were full of warmth and kindness, reflecting an understanding that transcended mere superficialities. He had auburn hair—a stark contrast to Priya's ebony locks—and a well-toned build that bespoke of a disciplined lifestyle. Yet, despite his physical presence, it was his innate sense of empathy that truly defined him.
Priya, or rather Pari, as everyone fondly called her, was a picture of beauty.
Her slender frame was draped in a delicate saree, with an intricate border woven from the finest silk thread. The fabric danced around her like a living thing, shimmering under the soft glow of the chandelier. Her big brown eyes held a spark of curiosity, peeking out from behind a curtain of thick, lustrous black hair. It was a face that exuded innocence, yet hinted at a wild side waiting to be unleashed.
Kartik had a keen eye for beauty, and Priya was no exception. When he spied her across the crowded room, something stirred within him.
She stood out amidst the crowd, her ethereal beauty capturing his attention immediately. As Kartik approached Priya, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement coursing through his veins. His gaze lingered on her, appreciating every curve and contour of her exquisite form.
"Hello there," Kartik finally managed to utter, mustering up some courage. "I'm Kartik. I hope you enjoying yourself?"
Priya looked up at him, her big brown eyes filled with a hint of shyness.
"Oh, hi! Yes, thank you so much for inviting us over. It's such a lovely party." She paused, nervously tugging at the hem of her saree. "My name's Priya, by the way."
Kartik smiled, his dark eyes gleaming with admiration. "Priya, what a beautiful name. It suits you perfectly. So tell me, how do you know Arun?"
Priya blushed prettily, her fingers fidgeting with the pallu of her saree.
"Well, we work together. My husband, Arun, is a software engineer at my company."
A glint of amusement flickered in Kartik's eyes. "I see. That sounds like an interesting arrangement. Tell me, Priya, what brings you here tonight?"
Priya hesitated before speaking, her voice barely audible. "Arun and I came because one of our colleagues invited us. We thought it would be a nice change of pace to attend a social event instead of another boring office party."
Kartik nodded, studying her intently.
There was something intriguing about Priya; she seemed almost too innocent to belong in Arun's life. He wondered if Arun knew the extent of his attraction to his wife. Perhaps not, he decided, remembering the stoic nature of the quiet man.
"So, Priya," Kartik began again, taking a sip of champagne, "what brings you here tonight? I mean, besides attending a colleague's party."
Priya gave a small laugh, looking down at her hands. "Oh, nothing really.
