Chapter 8: Guaranteed Delivery
The facilitator didn’t speak. He was just a shape, a bulk of muscle in a tight black tee, smelling of cheap deodorant and concrete. He looked at Mark on the chaise not with desire, but with a flat, workmanlike appraisal. Mark’s mind, wrapped in that sweet, fuzzy gauze, tried to muster panic. It came out as a feeble squirm.
“I… I don’t think…” Mark slurred.
The man grunted, a short, dismissive sound. He gripped Mark’s bicep, his fingers digging in, and hauled him upright. Mark’s legs wobbled. The room tilted. He was led, not ungently, but with absolute certainty, out of the velvet parlor, down a sterile hallway, and into a waiting car. The drive was a blur of streetlights and the low thrum of the engine. Mark stared at his own reflection in the dark window—pupils wide, mouth slightly open—and felt the persistent, warm ache in his chest throb in time with his heartbeat.
He was dropped at his apartment building. The facilitator just pointed at the door. The meaning was clear. Go inside. Wait.
The stale, familiar air of his own apartment hit him like a physical blow after the Grotto’s perfumed atmosphere. The neon sign outside flickered, casting cancerous pink light across the peeling floral wallpaper. He stood in the middle of the mess, the chemical haze beginning to thin, replaced by a crawling, skin-deep anxiety. The guarantee. Engagement One. It was coming here.
His phone buzzed on the cluttered coffee table. A new message from an unknown number. It was a video file. With trembling fingers, he opened it.
It was him. Footage from the Grotto’s parlor, taken from the shadowy corner. He saw himself slumped on the chaise, eyes glazed, head lolling. The camera zoomed in on his chest, where the grey polo shirt stretched taut over a subtly rounded curve that hadn’t been there that morning. The video had a soft, instructional voiceover, Eve’s voice, but processed to sound gentle, encouraging.
“See the receptivity? The body accepting its new purpose. To accelerate acceptance, apply the provided compound. Topical integration synchronizes the external form with the internal readiness.”
In his mailbox, he found a small, unmarked package. Inside, nestled in cold gel packs, were three vials of a pearlescent cream and a syringe filled with a clear, viscous liquid. The cream was labeled ‘Muscle Memory Enhancer.’ The syringe was tagged ‘Metabolic Catalyst.’
A wave of nausea rolled through him. This was real. The contract was real. The changes, already beginning, were real. He wanted to throw the package out the window. He wanted to call the police. But the memory of the void—the years of silence, of being unseen—closed around his throat, tighter than any panic. The guarantee was a lifeline thrown into that void. He clutched it.
The instructions were simple. Inject the catalyst into the refrigerator’s main coolant line. Then, apply the cream.
Hands shaking, he did it. The syringe hissed as he emptied it into a port behind the fridge. The unit gave a deep, shuddering groan and its hum shifted, becoming lower, more resonant. A cold mist seeped from its seals, smelling of chemicals and sweet, spoiled milk.
He took the vials to his bedroom, stripping off his clothes. In the full-length mirror, the changes were unmistakable. His pectorals were no longer flat. They had a soft, rounded slope, the nipples darker, puffy and sensitive. A faint, blue vein traced a new path under the skin. When he moved, there was a slight, unfamiliar jiggle.
“Oh, god,” he whispered, but his voice sounded higher, thready.
He unscrewed a vial. The cream was cool, slick. He rubbed it into his chest in slow circles as instructed. The effect was immediate and violent. A searing heat, not painful but intensely visceral, bloomed under his palms. He watched, transfixed in horror, as the tissue beneath his skin seemed to liquefy and then reconstitute itself, swelling outward. His chest plumped, filling his hands with warm, yielding flesh. The areolas widened, darkening to a deep rose, the nipples hardening into prominent, eager peaks. They felt electric, every nerve ending singing a sharp, bright song.
He gasped, the sound oddly breathy. A second wave of heat swept down his torso. He looked down to see the cream, somehow spreading beyond where he’d applied it, sinking into the skin of his hips and abdomen. A deep, internal pressure built, a sensation of seams being unstitched. His hip bones seemed to creak, a dull ache radiating out as the structure subtly widened. Fat, soft and warm, settled over his new curves, smoothing out the angular lines of his pelvis. His waist appeared narrower by contrast, an hourglass illusion forming in real time.
He staggered to the closet, pulling on the only form-fitting clothes he owned—a pair of cheap, black gym shorts and a tight grey tank top. The fabric clung obscenely. The tank top strained across the new, soft mounds of his chest, the nipples visibly pressing against the thin cotton. The shorts, once loose, now dug into the widening swell of his hips and the suddenly fuller, rounder curve of his ass. As he moved, he felt the weight of it, a jostling, unfamiliar presence.
He turned, trying to see his back in the mirror. The shorts were stretched taut, the spandex threadbare. With a soft, sighing tear, a seam along one buttock split open, revealing a pale, plump crescent of flesh. He stared at the rip, then at his reflection. His face was still his, but softer around the edges, the jaw less defined. His lips looked fuller. He touched them. They tingled.
The doorbell rang.
The sound was like a gunshot in the silent apartment. His heart hammered against his new, tender chest. The guarantee. He shuffled to the door, the sensation of his own body moving in this new, weighted, swaying way utterly foreign. He peered through the peephole.
A man stood there. Late twenties. Baseball cap, hoodie. Not the facilitator. Someone else. He looked bored, checking his phone.
Mark’s hand hovered over the lock. The void in his life yawned. The chemical promise in his veins hummed. The ache in his swollen chest was a demand. He unlocked the door and opened it a crack.
The man looked up, his eyes scanning Mark from head to toe, pausing on the torn shorts, the strained tank top. A slow, disinterested smile spread across his face. “Yeah, hey. Got a delivery for Mark. You Mark?”
“I… yes.”
“Cool.” The man didn’t hand him a package. He just shouldered the door open, walked past him into the apartment, and looked around. “Place is a dump. Whatever.” He turned back to Mark, his gaze locking onto his chest. “They said you’d be ready. You ready?”
The question hung in the thick air. Mark’s mouth was dry. He could say no. He could scream. But the word that emerged was a faint, “Yes.”
“Good. Don’t gotta talk much. Just gotta lay there, really.” The man reached out, not for his hand, but to squeeze one of the soft mounds through the tank top. His grip was firm, impersonal. A bolt of sensation—sharp, confusing, a mix of violation and startling pleasure—shot through Mark. A tiny, helpless sound escaped his lips.
The man chuckled. “Sensitive. Cute.” He guided Mark backward with that single rough hand on his chest, pushing him toward the sagging couch. Magazines and candy wrappers spilled to the floor. “Just get on your knees. Right here.”
Mark obeyed. The rough fabric of the couch scratched his bare knees where the torn shorts rode up. He heard the rustle of the man’s jeans, the zip. He closed his eyes, trying to disconnect. This was the guarantee. This was what he signed up for.
“Open your eyes,” the man said, his voice closer now. “C’mon. Part of the deal. You wanna get laid, you gotta see it happening.”
Mark forced his eyes open. The man’s cock was already hard, thick and ruddy in the neon-tinged gloom. It looked medical, impersonal. The man didn’t kiss him, didn’t touch his face. He gripped the back of Mark’s head, fingers tangling in his hair.
“Open up. And don’t fucking bite.”
The tip pressed against Mark’s new, fuller lips. A taste of salt and skin. The chemical fog in his brain, the hormonal cocktail, did its work. His jaw went slack. His mind, repulsed, began to retreat, to fold in on itself. But his body… his body was responding on a different frequency. The insistent throb in his chest seemed to sync with the rhythm the man set. A deep, shameful heat pooled low in his belly. His own cock, neglected and confused, stirred weakly in his shorts.
The man fucked his mouth with steady, shallow thrusts. “Yeah, that’s it. Just take it. Nice and easy.” He used his grip on Mark’s head to guide him, his movements pragmatic. Mark gagged, tears springing to his eyes. Spit dripped down his chin. The man pulled out, wiping the wetness on Mark’s tank top, right over a taut nipple. The sensation was so acute Mark whimpered.
“Turn around. Hands on the couch.”
Mark pivoted awkwardly, the torn seam in his shorts gaping further. The man yanked the shorts down to his thighs, exposing him. The cool air hit his skin. A slap landed on his newly rounded ass cheek—stinging, possessive. Mark jumped, a yelp caught in his throat.
“Lot more back here now, huh?” the man mused, kneading the flesh with a rough hand. He didn’t prepare him, didn’t ask. There was just the sound of a condom wrapper, a moment of pressure, and then a brutal, tearing shove.
Mark cried out, a raw, strangled sound. The pain was white-hot, searing. He clawed at the couch cushions. The man above him grunted, settling into a relentless, pounding rhythm. Each thrust jolted Mark forward, made the flesh on his chest sway heavily. The pain began to mutate, blurred by the chemicals saturating his system. It mixed with the deep, submissive ache of his body being used, a perverse fulfillment of the contract’s terms. A broken, rhythmic sob hitched in his chest with every drive inward.
The man’s hands found his hips, fingers digging into the soft new fat, holding him in place for a deeper, harder stroke. “There you go,” the man panted, his voice grating in Mark’s ear. “Getting your guarantee, huh? Taking it like you fucking need it.”
He came quickly, with a final, jarring thrust and a low groan. He stayed inside for a moment, his weight pressing Mark down into the couch. Then he pulled out, the condom slick. He tucked himself away, zipped up.
Mark stayed on his knees, trembling, feeling empty and raw. A trickle of something warm slid down his thigh. He didn’t move.
The man patted his ass, the gesture utterly dismissive. “One down.” He walked to the door, pausing only to glance back. “Check your fridge. They said you’d need to replenish.”
The door clicked shut.
Silence rushed back in, louder than before. Mark collapsed onto the filthy couch, his body a map of new pains and shameful, lingering sensations. The neon sign blinked. Off.
He finally dragged himself up, shuffling to the kitchen. The fridge’s new, deeper hum filled the room. He opened it.
The interior lights glowed with a faint, pinkish hue. On the once-empty shelves, glass bottles had appeared, filled with a rich, white liquid. A sticky note was slapped on one.
"Nutrient Supplement. Drink after every engagement. It’ll help with the soreness and the growth. XOXO – Eve"
Growth.
He looked down at his chest, at the full, heavy curves now permanently a part of him, at the torn shorts barely containing his hips. He looked at the bottle. The guarantee was fulfilled. He had gotten laid. The horror was not in the violation, but in the creeping, cellular understanding that part of him, buried deep beneath the shame, had found a terrible, hungry kind of satisfaction in it.
His phone buzzed again. A voicemail from Eve. Her real voice, dripping with sweet menace.
“Don’t worry about the mess, sweetheart. Just drink up. Your body’s just getting started. And remember… two more this week. The fun’s just beginning.”
