Two best friends live next-door to each other in a row house and the two friends have their bedrooms next to each other, separated by just a thin enough wall to hear a good spanking taking place. Their moms are best friends as well. What bounds them is that their moms still spanks them eventhough they both are 18 years already and going to college.

Chapter 6: The Study Pact

The lingering soreness had become a background hum, a constant, low-grade reminder that shaped their movements days later. Sitting for lectures was a precise art of shifting weight. Laughter sometimes hitched when a certain muscle memory triggered. They moved through the world with a shared, secret awareness of each other’s discomfort, a silent language of winces and sympathetic glances.

Now, in Mia’s room, the academic clutter felt like a fortress. Textbooks formed walls on the carpet. The golden pool of the desk lamp cut the evening gloom, isolating them in a world of highlighted notes and caffeine jitters. Eliza was sprawled on her stomach, idly tapping a pen against her teeth as she scowled at a diagram of the Krebs cycle. Mia sat cross-legged, her brow furrowed in concentration, shuffling a deck of anatomy flashcards.

“I can’t do this,” Eliza announced, letting her head thump onto the open page. “My brain is soup. It’s all just… acetyl-CoA mush.”

Mia set the cards down carefully. She chewed her bottom lip, a habit she had when thinking something through from every possible angle. “We need a system. Something with… consequences.”

Eliza turned her head, one green eye peering at Mia from the textbook. “Consequences. Like, if I get this wrong I have to make more coffee? Because I’ll fail on purpose.”

“No. Like…” Mia took a deep breath. Her fingers traced the edge of a flashcard depicting the brachial plexus. “Like we do a quiz.Fifty questions. Ten… ten per wrong answer. On the bare. To keep us focused.”

The air in the room changed. It wasn’t the heavy, dreaded silence of the living room before a punishment. This was thinner, sharper, charged with something else entirely. Eliza pushed herself up slowly, her gaze locked on Mia. The rebellion in her warred with a sudden, vivid curiosity. “Ten spanks. Each.”

Mia nodded, her hazel eyes serious. “It escalates. After five wrong answers, we switch to the hairbrush. After ten, the belt. Just like… you know. Home. But we’re in control. We set the rules.”

A thrill, cold and electric, shot down Eliza’s spine. It was insane. It was terrifying. It was the most interesting idea anyone had ever had in this room. The shared ordeal, the secret pact in the kitchen, it was all leading here, to this explicit, voluntary replication. A way to own what was usually done to them.

“Who goes first?” Eliza’s voice was quieter now.

“We take turns. I’ll quiz you first.” Mia’s hands were steady as she gathered her biochem notes, but Eliza could see the rapid pulse in her throat.“Fifty questions. Ready?”

Eliza rolled onto her knees, then settled back onto her heels. Her heart was hammering against her ribs. “Fire away.”

The first few questions were easy. Definitions.Simple pathways. Eliza rattled them off, her confidence building with each correct answer. Then Mia’s voice, calm and clinical, asked, “List the allosteric inhibitors of phosphofructokinase-1.”

Eliza’s mind blanked. She could see the page, but the words dissolved. “ATP… citrate…” She stalled.

“Time’s up,” Mia said softly. “That’s one.”

The reality of it crashed down.Eliza swallowed. She nodded, then moved to lie across Mia’s bed, her torso supported by a pile of pillows. She reached back, hooking her thumbs into the waistband of her sweatpants and the cotton underwear beneath, and pushed them down to her thighs. The air in the room was cool against her skin. She buried her face in the soft pillowcase, smelling fabric softener and Mia.

She heard Mia shift position on the bed behind her. A moment of absolute stillness, broken only by the distant hum of the house’s furnace.

The first smack was an experiment. Mia’s hand landed with a crisp, measured crack that was louder than Eliza expected in the quiet room. It stung, a bright, focused pain that bloomed across her skin. Eliza jerked, a gasp catching in the pillow.

“Sorry,” Mia whispered, her voice tight.

“Don’t be,” Eliza mumbled, her voice muffled. “Just… keep going.”

The next nine were slower, more deliberate. Mia found a rhythm. The impacts were sharp, painting a warm, overlapping heat across Eliza’s backside. Each one made Eliza tense, her fingers clawing at the pillowcase. It hurt.It really hurt. But it was a clean, contained hurt, administered by a hand she trusted implicitly, for a rule they had made together. There was no shame in this. There was only a shocking, breathless intensity.

“Okay,” Mia said finally, her breath a little ragged. “That’s ten.”

Eliza lay there for a second, the heat pulsing in time with her heartbeat. She pushed herself up, pulling her clothes back into place with a slight wince. She avoided Mia’s eyes at first, but when she finally looked, she saw no pity, no triumph. Just a deep, focused concern. “Your turn,” Eliza said, her voice hoarse. They switched places. Mia lay down, her flowy skirt pushed up, her own underwear lowered. Her skin was pale in the lamplight, still bearing faint, yellowish traces from days before. Eliza’s hand felt huge, clumsy. She raised it, hesitating.

“Just do it,” Mia said into the pillow, her voice firm.

Eliza brought her hand down. The sound was different on Mia—softer, somehow. Mia flinched, a small, choked sound escaping her. Eliza’s stomach tightened. This was different. Administering it was its own strange burden. She carried on, counting aloud, her own hand starting to ache. By the tenth, Mia was perfectly still, her breaths deep and controlled.

They continued. The questions got harder. The wrong answers piled up. The fourth error for Eliza triggered the switch to the hairbrush. Mia fetched it from her bathroom, its familiar, ominous weight a cold presence in the room. The first wooden thwack made Eliza cry out into the pillow, her legs kicking involuntarily. The pain was narrower, deeper, a concentrated line of fire that cut through the diffuse heat of the hand.

When it was Mia’s turn to reach five errors, she took the hairbrush from Eliza without a word. Her knuckles were white around the handle. She endured the series of strokes with only sharp intakes of breath, her body trembling by the end.

They were deep in it now, a shared, panting focus. The academic material became secondary to the ritual. The sting focused the mind, bizarrely. Eliza could suddenly remember enzyme structures with vivid clarity. Mia recited nerve pathways without a stumble.

Eliza’s tenth wrong answer loomed. The belt. They both stared at it, coiled on Mia’s desk chair where she’d placed it at the start, a silent promise.

“You don’t have to,” Mia said, her voice gentle.

“Yes, I do,” Eliza replied. The rules were the rules.Their rules. She laid herself down again, her body alight with anticipation and dread.

Mia picked up the belt. She folded it in half, the leather whispering. The wait was the worst part.

The first lash was a searing line, a brand. Eliza arched off the bed, a ragged scream stifled by the pillow. Tears sprang to her eyes unbidden. It was pain on a different scale, vast and consuming. But beneath it, woven into the very fabric of the agony, was a profound, undeniable trust. Mia was the one wielding it, and that fact made the pain almost holy.

She endured five before Mia stopped, her own breathing shaky. “That’s… that’s fifty. Quiz is over.”

Eliza collapsed, spent, the heat radiating from her in waves. She heard the belt drop to the floor, a soft thud. The bed dipped as Mia lay down beside her, not touching, just existing in the same charged space. The only sounds were their unsteady breathing and the faint tick of Mia’s alarm clock.

After a long while, Mia’s hand crept across the sheets. Her fingertips brushed Eliza’s, which were still gripping the pillowcase.

Eliza turned her head. Her face was streaked, her eyes red-rimmed. Mia looked the same.

Without a word, they inched closer. Eliza rested her forehead against Mia’s shoulder. Mia wrapped an arm around her, her hand coming to rest lightly on Eliza’s hair. They stayed like that as the heat in their skin slowly faded to a warm, throbbing echo, and the biochem notes lay forgotten on the floor, the most intense study session either would ever have, the lines between punishment, pact, and something else entirely now irrevocably blurred.
