Chapter 2: Building Tension
"Not to be too forward, but how about you show me some of your paintings?"
"Like..now?"
"Sure! If you're not in the middle of something," I nodded at his open laptop.
He hesitated. "If Aaron was around, I wouldn't hesitate," he said. "On second thought, nevermind Aaron!" He smiled again and the whole coffee shop seemed to light up. "Let's go! It's not far."
The soft hum of the city outside was a stark contrast to the quiet of Ethan's apartment. It was a comfortable place, not huge, in an older building, the kind that had character and charm. The high ceilings and exposed brick walls gave it an industrial feel, but the warm sunlight filtering through the large windows softened the edges, casting a comforting glow over a soft leather sofa and the gleaming teak coffee table. In the air, the faint smell of old books mingled with new painting smells.
Ethan led me through the living room, past a bookshelf filled with an eclectic mix of novels, textbooks, and art books. We entered a small hallway, and he paused in front of an open door, gesturing for me to go in first.
It was his studio, filled with canvases of various sizes, two easels, one with an unfinished landscape. Art supplies were neatly arranged around the space. The walls were covered with paintings, each one unique and captivating. I wandered around, taking in the different styles and subjects, from abstract landscapes to detailed portraits.
"These are incredible," I said, genuinely impressed.
I turned to face Ethan, who was standing by the door, watching me with a mix of pride and nervousness. I noticed something else, too. His pants were a little tight in the front.
"You're really talented," I said. I didn’t mention his bulge, but at the sight of it, my own cock began to swell. This guy was not only smart and good looking, he was genuinely nice.
He shrugged slightly, his cheeks tinged pink. It's just a hobby, really. Something I enjoy doing in my spare time."
I gestured to one of the portraits hanging on the wall, a striking image of an elderly man with wise, twinkling eyes. "This one, it's... it's like it's telling a story. Who is he?"
Ethan stepped closer, his gaze softening as he looked at the painting. "That's my grandfather.
He was a storyteller, always had a tale to share," Ethan said, his voice filled with affection. "He passed away a few years ago, but his stories live on."
I nodded, feeling a pang of emotion at the love and reverence in his voice. Embarrassingly, my cock picked this moment to begin swelling up. Fast! I guess it was his vulnerability. But in any case, I had to turn away for a second to adjust myself. Talk about awkward!
"He must have been a remarkable man."
Ethan smiled softly, his eyes on the portrait. "He was. I miss him every day."
My cock firmly to the right, and pointing up, I turned to face him, our eyes meeting in a silent moment of connection. "I'm sorry you lost him," I said gently, taking a step closer.
Ethan looked at me, his eyes searching, his expression still vulnerable. And dammit! his cock so hard It was obvious he was as hard as I was. But the look on his face! It was a stark contrast to the confident, almost flirtatious demeanor he had shown earlier.
I took another step forward, closing the distance between us. "I'm glad you have his stories to remember him by," I said softly, my voice barely above a whisper.
Ethan nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "I am too. It's like a part of him is still here."
The studio was bathed in a soft golden light, the sunlight filtering through the large windows casting a warm glow over everything. I reached out, gently tucking a stray lock of hair behind his ear. Ethan leaned into my touch, his eyes fluttering closed briefly.
When he opened them again, they were filled with a quiet intensity that sent a shiver down my spine.
"James," he whispered, his voice barely audible. It was part question, part acknowledgment of the moment we were sharing. His hand went to mine, fumbling for a hold.
I smiled gently, my fingers locking with his.
"Ethan," I replied, my voice soft yet steady. Without thinking, I moved my free hand to his side.
The air between us was thick with tension, a palpable energy that seemed to hum with possibility. I could see the conflict in Ethan's eyes, the war between his desire and his uncertainty. Then his hand moved, brushing my own bulge.
"I'm... " His eyes said he didn't know how to finish that sentence.
"We can take this as slow or as fast as you want."
Ethan looked at me, his eyes searching, before he gave a small nod. It was all the encouragement I needed. I stepped closer, closing the distance between us until our bodies were almost touching. I could feel the heat radiating from him, see the pulse at the base of his neck quickening.
I leaned in, giving him a chance to pull away, but he didn't. Our lips met in a soft, tentative kiss. It was hesitant at first, but then Ethan melded into me, his hands gliding up to my shoulders, his fingers curling into the fabric of my shirt.
I deepened the kiss slowly, letting our bodies press together, feeling the hardness of him against my own. It was electric, a spark that seemed to ignite a fire within me. I could feel his breath hitching, his heart pounding against his chest.
I drew back slightly, our foreheads touching, our eyes locked. "Is this okay?" I whispered, my voice barely above a murmur. Ethan nodded, his eyes wide and shining. "Yes," he breathed, his voice barely audible. "It's more than okay."
