Chapter 1: Introduction
Officer Jane Doe kicked off her shoes and socks, sliding her feet out of their sweaty prison. The freshly cut, St. Augustine grass tickled her toes, a sensation she savored as a small reward for chasing down society's worst. She dangled her feet over the park bench, sighing while automatically assessing the immediate area for potential threats.
Her muscular legs glinted with shimmering sweat under the gentle gold streetlight. The luxurious April night washed through the park, propelled by a tender southern breeze.
Jane couldn't help but close her eyes, ears filled with joyful children's laughter ringing out from the nearby playground.
A rustling from the shrubs nearby set her on high alert. Immediately on guard, she scanned the area before her eyelids dropped again - only momentarily.
When she reopened her eyes, a trio of peculiar, fluffy creatures apprehensively emerged. Kitten-like but with a more cohesive roundness, the rust-colored beings padded across the cool grass.
Each had a pair of large, guileless eyes that seemed to reflect the twinkling stars above. Glossy fur, as soft as angel wings, covered their diminutive bodies.
As Jane observed these diminutive animals cautiously advancing, she noticed cute, tiny ears and thin, elongated tongues. These strange, lovable beings looked at her with curiosity, as if she were the remarkable and bewitching sight.
Nervously, Jane wiggled her bare toes, like a trembling leaf upon the branch of a mighty oak.
The three mini-critters ceased their creeping crawl. Their ears twitched, eyes sparkled, and noses snuffled the pungent mix of earth and her sweaty skin. It drew them closer, unable to resist the irresistible allure.
"Hey there, little guys." Jane greeted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I promise I'm not one of the bad ones."
Intrigued, the least hesitant of the bunch took a flying leap, latching onto her big toe with a gentle, sticky ferocity.
"Ack!" Jane yelped, startled. Her body instinctively jerked from the explosive sensation that shot up her leg. "Wh-what in the world?"
She studied the critter on her foot - much to its delight. Its wet, serpentine tongue flickered freely, tickling every sensitivity she never knew existed. Jane's initial panic evolved into breathless giggles.
The critter's eyes glittered with primal satisfaction, growing bolder with each Lilting peal of laughter that Jane released.
Its friends, now emboldened, launched themselves at her eager feet, unleashing another torrent of warped chuckles.
"Oh my god," Jane murmured, how could something so innocent-looking be the source of such an intense ticklish uproar? She planted her hands on the bench, a feeble attempt to anchor herself amidst the laughter bubbling from her core.
The band of Coochie Critters clung to her feet like marathon runners nearing the finish line.
Their tiny tongues embarked on a ticklish offensive, stealing the officer's breath with every pass.
Jane's laughter spun out of control, her body convulsed, and tears streamed down her cheeks. "Okay, okay, I surrender!" she cried, swatting harmlessly at her furry assailants. "Mercy, mercy!"
Her muscles, slick with sweat from both the chase and the unforeseen tickling siege, glistened in the gentle glow of the streetlights.
Jane's body, powerful and in control when on duty, now trembled, unable to keep her giggles contained.
The Coochie Critters, seemingly unaware of their seductive talents, continued to gallivant around the battlefield that was Officer Jane Doe's foot. Her squirming and cries for mercy only spurned them on, pushing them to near-hysterics.
How had Jane allowed herself to succumb so quickly? That inner chill, always at the ready to face adversaries, now took a back seat to the electrically-charged ticklish laughter.
Her abs involuntarily contracted, while her chest heaved for air. As mission leader, she'd never been more embarrassed.
Yet, something changed in Jane. An unlikely kinship graced her heart, softening its usually impenetrable cast. The Coochie Critters, seemingly unburdened by the weight and worry that plagued most adults, simply wanted to enjoy the night through her feet.
It had been too long since Jane allowed herself such liberation from the, all-consuming expectations of being a seasoned officer.
Powerless against the Coochie Critters' relentless, ticklish barrage, her belly ached from laughter.
Jane's legs twitched involuntarily, grazing her freshly-cut grass battleground. This violent, yet sensual contrast under the watchful clouds above, combined with her overwhelming incapacitation at the hands - or rather, tongues - of these mysterious creatures, began to slowly shift her thoughts elsewhere.
